3 Screws is all it took to replace the proprietary Dyson V7/V8 battery with this adapter and I was able to use all of the Dewalt 20v batteries I have laying around. Fits well and I wasn’t sure it would power max mode but it does just fine and drives the roller brush with no issues. Best part is with the 4ah battery I can cover a lot without having to recharge and I can swap if needed. Plus it lets my cycle my dewalt batteries every so often instead of leaving them sitting there.
Great buy, the filter was a nice bonus too!

I used my small drill battery to have the vacuum cleaner run for 1-3 seconds then quits. I then used my 3Ah larger Dewalt battery which worked. Don’t be fooled by their pictures.

If you are like me and have many Dewalt 20v batteries for your tools, this adapter is a great asset. By simply removing two screws and installing this battery adapter you are not limited by the run time of the built in Dyson battery. Instead you will just swap out another Dyson battery.
This adapter is well made and was very easy to install. It works well with both my Dewalt 20v and my Dewalt 60v Flexvolt batteries.

Easy to install, ditch the original battery and use much higher capacity Dewalt batteries with this! It will make a lot of sense if you have Dewalt batteries to begin with. I wish I had known about this earlier. I can easily vacuum twice as long with this adapter vs. the original battery. There are also much higher capacity Dewalt batteries that can extend the vacuum time even longer. No need to worry about worn out Dyson batteries ever again.

I decided to purchase this because my battery life was dying. Literally after 5-10 secs it would die.
It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Just took out 3 screws and replace the battery for this adapter. It vacuums great.

The adapter installed quickly in my Dyson V7 Animal using the same three screws that held the previous battery in place. It fits into the vacuum well.
The top screw hole didn’t seem to line up at first, but if you push the adapter into the vacuum while screwing it in, it lines it up properly. I really like that I can use the same Dewalt batteries I already have instead of needing to buy yet another brand of rechargeable battery.
I was slightly disappointed in the runtime, but that is entirely due to the fact that I have the smaller 1.5Ah Dewalt batteries. My Dyson V7 Animal ran for about 4 minutes on Max power with the powered floor attachment on a freshly charged 1.5Ah battery.
I’ll likely pick up some larger capacity Dewalt batteries to get more runtime. I’d rather do that than buy another dedicated battery for the Dyson. That way not only can I use the batteries in the vacuum, but also in my other power tools as well.
On top of that, being able to quickly swap batteries means that I don’t have to stop vacuuming to wait for the Dyson to recharge in order to finish cleaning. I can just swap out the dead battery, put in a fresh one, and finish the job right then. The adapter is well worth it’s price — just to avoid the annoyance and wasted time of needing to wait for a battery to recharge in order to finish cleaning later.
