When I opened the box I was absolutely stunned at how small the magnetic mounts in this set were. they are only about 3/4 of an inch wide and an inch and a half long. Doesn’t seem like they would be large enough to hold anything sturdy until you attach the metal plate to the back of your phone and get it within a few inches of the magnet and then the magnet practically tears your phone right out of your hand and locks it securely in place magnetically. The roads around where I live resemble the surface of the moon, and the phone does not budge a millimeter until I want to take it off the mount and put it back in my pocket or travel bag. Don’t let the compact size of these mounts fool you, they are much more powerful than meets the eye. A really good purchase.

went with the 2 pack because I wanted one for my GPS and the other for my phone. Unfortunately I could only find one spot that was flat enough to stick it to, the location I had planned for my phone had too much of a curve so that didn’t work. The magnet is very strong, I have a large metal piece on my phone case, so I don’t need to use the included metal patches. Don’t need my GPS unit a lot so it shouldn’t be much of an issue.

These are great provided you have a flat spot on your car you want your phone. I like that I can also use my charger (e.g. because it is not a tension-based holder) while the magnet has a strong hold on the phone.

Note that if you have a curved dash these will not work very well.
