If you have one of the AirCare humidifiers you know the replacement wicks can be pricey. That is why this one is such a great value. It fits perfectly and is well made. Plenty of pleats to soak up water. Extra reinforcing straps keep it sturdy. Very absorbent and you will find in use it performs as well as the OEM wick so save yourself some money and get this wick instead.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this filter. I assumed because this was not the OEM brand and with how low the price point was, that this filter wouldn’t hold up long, but i was wrong. This filter fits exactly like the OEM one and is significantly cheaper, making this a great alternative filter than the name brand. Fits my AirCare 6gal humidifer perfectly.

I run my AirCare humidifier almost nonstop during the winter. As such I’ve always struggled with finding replacement filters that do the job, and are reasonably priced. Glad I found this Super Wick 1043! It fit perfectly, has plenty of pleats so it last a good while, and is cheaper than other OEM filters or buying from AirCare. Save yuurself some money and give these a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

There’s a lotta numbers in the title there, but the “1043” part is generally enough to tell me if it will fit correctly. I go thru one of these about every 2 or 3 weeks during winter, so I’m always on the hunt for a good bargain on them!
This one is different than the slightly more expensive versions, however. There are fewer sheets of folded paper, and the crinkles are bigger, with more gaps. (See photo of the new and old side by side for comparison.)
Time will tell if it turns orange and smelly faster than the previous wicks I have bought, which had more sheets of paper per wick. The glue is also not in a nice smoothed line like previous wicks I have bought, it has more large droplets, as tho it was done with literally a glue gun instead of a long thin sticker sheet.
White Chocolate –
Pros- Exact same size as OEM 1043 filter, and fits perfectly into the plastic housing in the humidifier. It will function.
Cons- At least 25% fewer paper fins, less dense, than OEM filter which means it can wick less water up to the fan, which may be slower to humidify the air. The glue holding the paper fins together is pretty thin and sloppy, feels cheap.

This humidifier wick is the pretty much same as the OEM wick. I’m using it in the AIRCARE 83100 without issue and seems well built and reinforced. Price-wise, it is roughly the same price for other non-OEM 1043 filters – however, there are also cheaper options for the same quality. Overall no complaints, but I will also consider lower priced ones when this needs replacing.

I just replaced the filter in our humidifier with this one and it’s exactly like the one from Essick – actually just a smidge smaller, which made it easier to insert into the housing. We have a console-style humidifier that uses a “cage” of sorts to hold the filter in place – you need to slip it into the housing. It’s not really easy, but compared to the original this one is a bit easier.
The material of the filter looks identical to the original. It’s been running for about 12 hours and I checked the wicking on it – works perfectly.
