I had previously bought a cheaper hdmi to component converter to hook my android tv box to my slingbox 350. That model did NOT convert hdmi to component properly and the slingbox could not get video signal, only sound.

So i bought this converter and i am happy to report video and sound are converted perfectly from hdmi signal coming from my android tv box to my component input on my slingbox 350. So all is fine, except… i cannot identify a model type to configure a remote for my android box. Evidently, slingbox 350 was designed a few years ago with cable and satellite boxes in mind so you can find a whole list of them and when you identify it correctly it pops a very useful “virtual remote” so that you can control your tv source (cable, satellite or in my case android box) to change channels for instance. So i’m doing fine if i’m sitting in front of my livingroom htpc and have my android remote next to me. But if i want to use slingbox on my phone, tablet or remote location, i’m stuck to one channel. So that sucks. Of course it’s not a conversion problem (hdmi to component) but since it is clearly mentionned it is designed for “slingbox” i would have supposed there would be a solution for “generic devices” with a “generic remote”, some sort of simple one size fits all remote…. So if anyone out there has a solution, let me know ! Thanks 🙂

Pros: Ease of use, small size, dual connectivity options
Cons: High price, no USB power adapter

I purchased this so I could connect a slingbox 350 I had laying around to my DirecTV Genie. Unfortunately, the Genie does not have Component Out, only HDMI. So, I purchsed thi HDMI to Compornent. Also, I needed to still have HDMI out so that I could keep the Genie connected to my tv for viewing when the slingbox is not in use.
Setup was very easy. Just plug in the HDMI in source from the Genie to this switch. Then hook up the Slingbox via component and the TV via HDMI out.
While somewhat pricey at $79.99, it was the only solution I could find that does both HDMI and Component out and is compact in size. Strangely, at this price it does not come with a power supply. It has a micro-USB to USB cable, but no power adapter, so I had to supply that. Luckily I had an extra one that I could use for it. But at $80.00 they really should include a power adapter.
Overall, I am happy with my purschase and would recommend this product for those who need both an HDMI and component video out switch with devices that ony have HDMI out.

I recently switched from a Canon DSLR to the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II. My Canon gear required a Kata photo backpack to transport it all — part of the reason for the switch! With smaller and lighter gear, I needed a different camera bag. My old ThinkTank HubbaHubbaHiney, that worked as a day bag with the Canon and one extra lens, held almost all the Olympus gear, but it was a tight squeeze, and I didn’t like the hassle of prying things out and squeezing them back in. Thus the search began.

The medium Ciesta insert holds everything I can imagine needing for the micro 4/3 camera. I mean everything: camera with 12-40 pro lens and heavy padded strap attached, 75-300 lens, 60 macro lens, little Rokinon fisheye lens, and battery charger. And … a filter case with filters for all lenses and a little case with 2 extra batteries and SD cards, along with all the miscellaneous stuff that I never need until I desperately need it: filter wrenches, lens pens, microfiber cloths, rain cover. All that fits into the insert. If I added another lens, it would be simple to reconfigure, and put the extras into a separate little bag that would fit right on top of the insert.

What I love about the Ciesta insert as compared to the others available is that the side panels are not one stiff panel but are articulated. This makes the insert much more flexible. The Ciesta includes 5 divider panels, making customization very easy — other inserts of this size have only 2 or 3. I also prefer the drawstring top to a zipper top — in the old tote bag I use to hold the insert it can be folded down along the sides, giving me very easy access to my gear. At home, I can just remove the insert with all the gear, pull the drawstring up, and all my camera gear is together on the closet shelf, waiting for the next adventure.

And of course it will go from bag to bag, and now I have the fun at looking at new tote bags on Amazon!

Not too pleased that I plugged these in so I can have an ear monitor but the phone recognizes them as “beats”. They work fine for listening and the mic works but for monitoring, they do not work. Kinda bummed.

I just finished installing these in my service box. I can’t be sure it will protect against a surge, but I just tested my internet download speed, and it wasn’t reduced. My internet is rated at 400 Mbps, and Speedtest.net has me at 459.46 Mbps. So at least I know this device hasn’t degraded my signal.

I also used a multimeter to test whether all the cable lines inside my house are grounded. I took the multimeter, set it to resistance (ohms), and then bridged the cable in my living room to the screw on one of the grounded electrical outlets. Before and after installing this device, my multimeter read 3 ohms. So I know that this device has not interfered with the ground – which is good because surge protectors don’t work unless they are grounded!!!

So I can’t be sure this device helped, but at least I know it didn’t hurt.

A tip: you’ll need a more more cheap parts to install this device. This surge protector has a male connector on both ends, but your grounding block likely also has a male on both ends. To connect this device to your grounding block, you’ll either need an extension cable with a female on both ends, or else you’ll need this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NCXUCRW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&fbclid=IwAR3NumHTdRsYZxfDEUHL7OL9r-H26dFbSItjttw_is3ypQD0DC_J5YCG84M. In the attached photo, you’ll see I use this device to connect the surge protector to the grounding block.

Second, you’ll need some more weather-sealing grommets. I haven’t bought these yet, so in the attached photo, some of my connections still aren’t weather-sealed yet. https://www.amazon.com/CIMPLE-CO-Coaxial-splitters-Connectors/dp/B06XHYNMVZ/ref=sr_1_4?crid=33ISKRBXT81H8&dchild=1&keywords=coaxial%20rubber%20grommet&qid=1599500955&s=electronics&sprefix=coaxial%20rubber%20%2Celectronics%2C176&sr=1-4&fbclid=IwAR3NumHTdRsYZxfDEUHL7OL9r-H26dFbSItjttw_is3ypQD0DC_J5YCG84M
