this is seriously a POS
now it has a grand new feature caused by the brillance that is MS
their so called update caused a white line to appear at top of screen

anyone who is considering this price ranger most likely just needs a computer regardless of operating system
let us be honest
this computer can barely handle web browsers with 8 gb ram

at this price point you are far better served buying a five year old to sven seven year old 2014 to 2017 macbook air

how do i konw this?

cuz i own a 2013 macbook air MBA that is far far far superior than this so called new for 2021/22 HP POS laptop
true my 2013 has a i7 but again it is middle of 2013! literally ten years old processor
technically, the base core i3/AMD processors are supposdely on par with an i7 from ten years ago, roughly speaking. both are dual cores etc etc

in reality?
my ten year old MBA runs farm smoother w equal ram
true Mac runs far better w less ram

i had to pay to get kingston 32gb ram installed o this hp laptop
and now it is speedwise close to my ten year MBA

i cannot stress this enough, anyone who needs a 400 laptop is better served buying an owner sold trustworthy ebay used MBA

even w 32gb ram this hp cannot compare to my MBA and no i am not a mac fanboy. just stating the facts.

ive owned many MS windows machines & they just always always have issues and good luck ever getting MS or other company to own up to their mistake and giving you proper tech support. they will always finger point.

at least w apple, you will get help as they vet all the hardware

save yourself headaches after headaches (and cost) & just buy the right gently used MBA
you will be glad you did

unless you must have a windows machine for schoolwork, that would be the exception as there are some software that will not run easily on a mac

betyond that, get mba

btw, cost of adding/buying/installing the ram resulted in a 500 laptop. for 500 usd i could have gotten a far suprior MBA

I bought to use to play Sims 2 the download version, and I have to say it works great. I am glad I made the purchase of this. I will say on first start up it booted up slower than expected, but I also live in an area with little to no internet service. It is not as big as I thought it would be either, but no complaints there! Overall, great laptop for all uses and personalization.

Edit: Update the laptop is still running strong even using scripts and mod download. The computer does come in S mode, but if you just google how to turn S mode off it is super simple as well as turning it back on.

This is an S mode laptop. Not mentioned in add. Posting of s mode should be mandatory! Also They keep saying you can easily change from s mode which isn’t true Microsoft has made it nearly impossible in win 11. Button to click for s mode change is always non clickable.

Great deal for the money. I run a small business and it easily handles everything I need it too. Plus, it’s lightweight and easy to take to meetings – or just work from the sofa rather than the desk. Definitely recommend.
