Bought this mainly for recording OTA programs. Had some problems with the software but Owerslyn was very fast at responding and solving the issue with 2 new firmware updates. The converter now works absolutely perfect. It finds channels quickly and setting up future program recording is easy. This is a flawless converter/recorder with tremendous support and the best I could find. Highly recommended for cord cutters.

Replacement unit worked right out of the box. Unit is more compact than tunerDVR boxes as you use your own power supply. Picked up all stations in the area, good picture and sound. Supplied HDMI cable allows use with my little – clearance receiver. Looking forward to long service and consistent recording and playback.

I gave 5 for picture quality, that is really nice. Now all the reasons why I send it back on day 0. 1) unreliable, freezes during fast forward or recording/playback. One is OK, 3-4 in a row not acceptable. 2) the remote is a pain, uncomfortable to use, bad layout and button quality. it also sends signals that may mess with your soundbar, making it impossible to use in an existing configuration 3) if you want to use your good and truly universal remote to control this device, good luck 4) the whole UI is very 1990s
2 additional notes, but that is mainly to help others who use it : A) the tv may not provide the right voltage for this, although you can use an external power source like a phone charger B) do not format the USB stick before you insert it into this, it will not use, nor reformat an existing partition

Controller is limited to powering the converter box but nothing else (TV, receiver, etc.). Results in having multiple controllers.
Be aware that channel, volume, etc. are controlled by Owerslyn included remote. The Owerslyn remote cannot power up/down your TV. If you bring the TV signal into your audio / video receiver, which does not have channel control (must be done by Owerslyn remote), you will end up with 3 controllers: Owerslyn (TV signal / channel), TV remote for TV power on / off, and AV receiver remote for sound.

I had purchased a number of analog to digital converters but had no success. I thought that I’ll give this a try because of the positive reviews. My sister has been nagging me since she had no TV to watch when she comes to visit. I had canceled satellite and cable long time ago due to the cost. I was amazed that it really only took only about a couple of minutes to get it working. Wished I found this long time ago.

The Owerslyn 2023 Digital Converter Box restored broadcast functionality to my friend’s Roku TV when his IR receiver stopped working. It is intuitive to set up by connecting to an HDMI port, USB port, and RF antenna and positioning the IR receiver’s half dome using peel-and-stick.
The remote has a bit of a learning curve as it has many buttons for such a small size, with basic functions (like volume up and down) mixed in with the more advanced functions, making the experience less intuitive and somewhat cumbersome (more so for those with large fingers). The program guide is very detailed, but it only shows one channel at a time, so an at-a-glance comparison of programs for a specific time is not possible.
It is recommended as a feature-rich tuner at a competitive price, with a need for a more intuitive design.

I like the compact hide behind The Television responsive infrared at a distance
This is a budget replacement for the internal tuner the antennae coaxial connector broke off when I over-tightened it… called in-home tech support to come in and solder it back
They told me they do not solder only order and install a new tuner he advised me that. The cost of the part and labor for a hundred dollars more or so I could have the exact one I have now overall I’m satisfied with this purchase easy setup no issues so far plus it is a PBR for recording live convenience and programming with a thumb drive 1080 P resolution

This device did what I was looking for and that was to get a digital tv signal to my 2014 Honda Odyssey minivan through hdmi. Setup was easy, the interface is expected from a budget friendly gadget. Everything seems adequate and my only qualm is that the IR receiver is not integrated and the input is a MINI USB and not the standard(so if something happens to the ir receiver, you are S.O.L). Haven’t gone through everything yet but if you are looking for a digital signal( must have antenna or digital converter box) through hdmi, this is the device and its small and compact…so close to 5 stars….4.5
