…the listing specifically says that it DOES) even after i turned up the sensitivity like the instructions said to do. At first it wouldn’t scan at all, and after turning up the sensitivity, it only told me that i needed to “wipe the sensor clean and try again.” Sensor isn’t dirty on a brand new protector on a brand new phone. Also, my protector came out of the box with a scratch UNDER the screen protector, on the side that touches the phone screen. The fit was good, but without the fingerprint functionality, we’re returning them and buying another brand.

I put on it but i notice you have to have yo screen brightness low for it to actually be dark like picture. So for me i keep my screen bright and doing so when you turn the phone you can still see the screen but its just a little blurry.

4.5 stars. This is a great higher end knife for anyone who is a Kershaw fan or is just getting into a knife hobby, because it takes a proven design and adds unique elements to make it special, namely the handle color and the blade steel. Who knows how long Elmax will be offered.

This is my second knife and first with assisted opening. I love the feel of the handle. It is anodized aluminum, so it keeps the weight down and has a matte feel so not super slick like other aluminum finishes. The color is a dark brown and while I would never have said that I was a fan of the color brown, I am so glad that I have it now. It is another take on earth tones popularized by flat dark earth or desert camo that have come out of nearly 20 years of middle east combat. I have medium sized hands and it fits well from the index finger choil down to the pinky. I imagine that it would also fit size large hands too, but might pinch a little for xl hands. The clip is reversible left/right tip up/down and is a loop over deep carry which I prefer. I would wager that you could change it for a higher carry clip. As it is, just the very tip of the handle is visible when clipped in and only visible if you are really looking for it. It isn’t as deep and a sog or ZT that come off of the end, but deep enough for me. Also, if you love the tactical (often tacticool) look of all black, heavy jimping, and weird angular blade shapes, this probably isn’t going to be the blade for you. The blade is wide, and thicker than a small edc blade, but it serves better as a gentleman’s, tough edc blade.

The sub frame of steel is used as the frame lock on the blade and lock up is at least 50% and will sink in to 90%+ in the right grip, so very positive. All of the models have a semi open design between the scales, so the stand off points are filled with a plastic or zytel filler from the midway of the back down to the lanyard hole. I would prefer a full open design with real standoffs, but again that is probably just personal preference. This is my first experience owning a speed safe assisted open knife and it is very emphatic. If 0 degree is closed and 180 degree is full open, the assist mechanism takes up at about 45 deg and it powers through 90 degrees. From there momentum carries it forcefully to locked open. No need to flick. When closing, it freely releases with the sub frame lock and can be easily moved back by the index finger to the 90 deg point where you will have to start fighting the speed safe spring assist to finish closing it. I also own a kershaw skyline which is unassisted and based on washers. It is pretty slick for washers and if I had a preference, it would probably be a ball bearing pivot instead of assisted. I like the idea that when a liner lock or frame lock is deactivated, that the blade doesn’t need to be forced back to close, but with gravity or a little shake, it will controllably fall back to close. Add to this the fact that flipper knives and designs for one handed operation are the crux of a fondling knife, which is the pleasurable activity of opening and closing the knife. Repeated closings start to wear on inside of the first knuckle of my index finger, because of the position the grips places my finger and the force required to overcome the spring. This is however, only a $60 knife sold with a super steel at $105, so bearings are a little unrealistic. I have used sog’s assist and both seem similar in speed and force. Even though I am a little new to knives, I am learning that I prefer less complication, like an assist mechanism, to simple mechanics, washers and ball bearings.

The blade is the key element that makes this a high end carry knife, collectible, and special. It is very hard to find Elmax steel on any brand for less than $150, so it has a premium which again speaks to specialness and hopefully to quality too. It comes from Bohler whom has a rep for making high quality steels. Some users/reviewers throw around the word super steel. The balance knife users battle is that we value both hardness (ability to hold a fine edge under cutting) and toughness (the ability to take impacts and prying forces without snapping), but as one goes up the other goes down, so it is a tradeoff. Another feature is the stainless ability to resist rust and corrosion. Lastly is the ability to hone an edge. I am no steel scholar, but this blade came very sharp, sharper than any blade I have ever used. So sharp the not only did it shave arm hair, I accidentally brushed the edge with my thumb while cleaning it, and it sliced enough skin to curl it up, but without drawing blood. Google Elmax and you will get more info than you need, but if this blade gets even close to the specs the Bohler puts out, then it is a steal at $150 and even more so at $105. I would safely assume that it would meet or beat the performance of s30v.

It is a drop point with a much beefier width and belly than the Skyline that I have. This is going to help with heavy duty tasks but hurt with more detailed tasks, such as fine slicing. Downer for the users who sharpen with a blade clamp set up, because this has a swedge tapered out of the top the keeps from offering a flat area to attach to the back of the blade. It looks nice but is a second kind of cool (TNP). I don’t generally like coatings, because I want to give my edc equipment the best opportunity to wear without showing it, but up close I really like the stone wash finish. It has a partial matte appearance that I like and has a low reflective flake look to it, like galvanized steel that has been out in the rain. IMO, dark blade coatings like tini or black wash will eventually get marred by with heavy use like making kindling, cutting heavy cardboard, etc. I chose this blade over the brown handle/blackwash blade partly for asthetics, the stonewash with the matte brown was striking for me, and partly because the difference between the naked steel and the stonewash finish will be harder to see than a dark coating that is coming off.

Lastly, should you buy it? Most nub’s and light users won’t need the benefits from the Elmax addition, so the $60 version is a better fit. Even better is nub’s who really just want a simple, lighter, and more fine to medium use blade, get the Skyline. It you want these things with a little special thrown in, look for a sprint run of the skyline. I saw a damascus steel skyline for $60 and a CF handled/s30v steel skyline for $110 that was very tempting. If you really want a heavier use blade, some sophistication, and some specialness, you probably can’t do better for the price that this Knockout.

Gracias.

Everything is great. Application was so easy, no bubbles! But if you plan to use a camera protector, I wouldn’t use the one that came in this pack. It was nice and sticky, but it wouldn’t stick to the surface of the phone. Just fall right off when you flip the phone open. Other than that, great product!

Does not fit perfectly, there is no way for this product to fit without the film sticking out a little bit. Pixel 8 pro screen curve near the edge but display does not extend to the edge, so this screen protector technically covers the screen and it will probably do its job just fine.
