For use in older appliances with non-led friendly circuit boards they’re indispensable. They are quite bright and operate quite hot but they’re better than nothing. Using LEDs with older appliances runs you the risk of seriously damaging the older control boards for those lights as I have already done with a Microwave (only become inoperable shortly after installing an LED over range despite working fine for 10+ years) and a garage opener that was only meant for 120v straight filament bulbs; worked with the LEDs for a bit and then never again with any kind of bulb, even the factory ones.

The 1st of 2 bulbs popped immediately!! 2nd bulb is working for now. Glad I picked a 2 bulb option. Frustrating to have an immediate failure. Can’t blame Amazon.
