I bought this because I have to read large portfolios at work, and I also like to not murder my neck and spine. Most of the book readers are not meant for huge heavy stacks of paper, and I had a smaller version of this one at my old job, and loved it.
So, $57 later, it gets delivered, and I set it up in a matter of minutes. Super easy to set up. 3 pieces. Very adjustable.
The only issue I have is that the leggs are not super reinforced when it comes to staying straight. So, I imagine that a clumsy enough episode would snap it sideways, and I have to make extra sure that I am not accidentally bending them when trying to position the stand.
Other than that, it is super sturdy, when I position it, it stays, even with all the weight on it. And it allows me to read my papers at whatever angle I want. I love it!
I’d rather have paid less, but it still pales in comparison to the medical bills to deal with the neck pain that would’ve otherwise occured.

Stable enough and holds pretty well for writing against. I liked the fact that it is adjustable for angle. changed it many times until I had it where I wanted it. if it was permanent, there would be no options. adjustability means not as rigid as a fixed system. Can’t have it both ways. I’ll take it this way. Would buy it again, for sure.

This document holder is another great 3-M product. It sits on the desk edge and will adjust so that the bottom extends below the desktop over and in front of the keyboard on its tray so that the computer screen remains completely visible for data entry. I’ve been looking for this sort of product for years, and I’m just so happy that I’ve found the perfect document holder for my purposes. Its geometry and operation is a bit difficult to figure out, but once mastered, the holder functions perfectly and is easy to adjust and use. It holds about an inch-thick pile of paper securely with a ribbed surface and a nice high molded-in bottom edge.

The stand and holder are very good. The page holder device is poor. I would think that with a heavy, large stand, the page holder would be of similar quality. The page holder is a thin elastic band with little plastic holders that are supposed to clip to the plastic screen. First, the ends sort of fit on the screen but flip off at the slightest movement. Second, the screen really needs a clip on page holder that can be moved up and down as one types. This string thing is really poor. I also think that this product is very over-priced. I bought it because I often need to type from large legal treatises. I don’t see how the string page holder can possibly work with such large tomes.

this is item was delivered on time and it works great. you don’t have to strain yourself and documents are right in front of you. It is easy to install. It is also adjustable, and I use in between my keyboard and monitor.

I have been using this item for nearly a year, and it does a good job for what it is designed to do. However, no matter how tightly I have the knobs cranked down, it doesn’t take much for the surface to swing down when I put a stack of papers on it (as I often do). I resorted to cutting a support piece from some foam board and taping it on the underside, but 3M should have made the knobs with teeth like so many other things have – THAT would be the real solution to this problem, preventing the surface from readjusting itself. That fix would earn it five stars.

If you need to work in front of your computer with large books, this product is for you. The design is simple but very sturdy. The only drawback is the lower part that is supposes to limit the thickness of the documents or book you put on it. It does not prevent you from using it with a thicker book, but it is a bit annoying.
I had to go pick it up myself in the US, since most vendors in Canada were trying to sale it for twice the price (Amazon was not shipping in Canada). What is this all about?
Good product, very useful, loving it!

Now that I have this at work, I couldn’t get by without it. I like that now I can look straight ahead instead of twisting my head to the side as I have necessary documents by me while I work on the computer. BUT, the dials on the side don’t work properly, and I had to find an alternate way to keep the clear plastic holder from flopping down, and the paper guide keeps snapping off. For the price I’m dinging it a star for quality. I don’t think it would support anything near as heavy as a book.

I’d been looking around for a few months for something that would hold a textbook or papers in front of me while working on projects and schoolwork. I knew that the typical clip, hanging type units wouldn’t work since they only held papers, but I noticed that one of the administrative assistants at work had one of these 3M Copy Holders at her desk and it seemed perfect for my needs. It seemed sturdy enough to hold the items I thought I’d need to use and it was very adjustable and well made. The Staples price in our catalog at work was over $100 so I thought that I wouldn’t be able to afford one, but I searched for it on Amazon when I got home and found it for $40 cheaper! I ordered it immediately and received it the next day even without paying extra for shipping! Awesome product and customer service! Way to go Amazon, you’ve outdone yourself again!

It’s great except the knobs that hold the copy holder in place keep loosening and it slides out of position. Once tighten it stays until it’s moved then loosens again. A design flaw I think.
