What I like about it is that it’s very easy to clean. The mouse also moves very smoothly.
The wrist rest however is very firm, it’s almost like resting your wrist on a brick. My hand becomes numb after 30-45 minutes of using it, unlike when using a mouse pad without a wrist rest.

I read that light colored pads extend the battery life of cordless mouse. I guess I’ll find out.

It’s become vitally important to have a gel wrist rest when using a mouse pad and this one is great. The leatherette feels good and looks nice. Purchased this one to replace an aging and very ugly cloth covered mouse page with a gel wrist pad. My mouse just stopped tracking accurately and it was time to find a new one.

I would have given this mouse pad a 5 star rating, but there were a couple of things that kept it from being perfect. The pad surface is interesting, to say the least. 3M designed it to help the laser or optical tracking in your mouse work better and more precisely. And that it does. However, it has a very fine tooth to it. Almost like a very fine sandpaper. This started wearing the bottom surface of my mouse. Just some fine scratches, like rubbing your mouse on super fine sandpaper.

I wasn’t quite sure how big this would be and didn’t want a big mouse pad sitting on my desk. But I wish I’d known how small it was in reality. It’s just a bit small and I wish it were slightly larger. The tracking surface measures about 6.5″ square. The gel wrist rest measures about 5″ x 2″. I’ve since switched out my mouse for a Logitech rolling ball mouse, which is larger than my old mouse. It just fits on the pad. I’m not moving the mouse around as it’s a trackball, but I’m always working on the edge of the pad. If it were about 1″ bigger on the top three sides, it would work better for me.

Those are minor complaints, but honest. It’s a great track pad and one of the best I’ve used for accuracy with a mouse.

My new 3M mouse pad arrived earlier today so you might think me premature in submitting a review after only a few hours of use. Not so! Right away, this mouse pad seemed to adapt perfectly into my hand/wrist position as I used my mouse to navigate various pages while browsing the Internet.

It looks to me to be beautifully made. There are no loose threads in the wrist support area, nor is there any curling along the edges of the pad. Taking the advice of other commentators in this section, I chose to leave the protective plastic film on the bottom of the pad.

Most importantly to those considering the purchase of this 3M mouse pad would seem to be the assurance that you won’t have any issue using your mouse. I have a Logitech M510, the older model with the superior laser eye on the side. It works like a charm on this pad. No issues whatsoever.

I threw the old pad out, unpacked the new 3M pad and I was up and running just like that. I especially like the “just right” leather look wrist support for height (not too high) and comfort (neither too firm nor too soft). We’ll see if that can still be said after a year or two as I am a reasonably heavy user of the Internet. The surface finish of the mouse pad itself is unlike any I have ever used before. To the touch, it is slightly coarse; almost lightly “pebbled”. But as I noted above, it is entirely compatible with my Logitech M510 mouse. Indeed, this surface may prove to be somewhat more durable than the softer, rubbery, fabric covered mouse pads. Again, we’ll see.

I am very happy with this choice.

It’s okay at first. As mentioned the wrist rest is hard as a rock. But bit by bit as it gets older the left and right edges begin to curl up. The uneven surface begins to cause mouse misses. Only now and then at first. But eventually you have to toss it because it looks like a Pringle. I kid. Mostly.
