I love 3M products. I paid a lot extra to get a 3M privacy filter that was specifically listed for my laptop and waited 2 weeks for it to even be in stock rather than order a cheaper one.

The instructions that came with the screen did not match what was given (they were for a different filter type that has blue filters. The products for a beveled screen do not come with the blue attachment pads). After finding a video from 3M I found that for this product, it comes with plastic wings that are supposed to pin the filter in place between the bevel but on the lenovo models listed, the bezel is both slightly thinner than the plastic wings/wedges and slightly beveled so the flat edges of the wings neither slide under as described nor hold the screen in place. There’s also a random notch in the top that my best guess is for removing the screen but doesn’t line up with any centered camera that most all devices have and is redundant given the slight distance the plastic adhesive spacers raise it up, there’d be no issue lifting it off the screen. Excellent quality, ridiculously poor design. Especially from a company I know is capable of excellence like 3M.

I also carefully measured the dimension of my screen as per the video instructions to make sure I was ordering the right size despite this being the listed model for my Lenovo work laptop. I desperately need a privacy filter for my laptop but am extremely disappointed with this one. I love 3m and the filter itself is incredible well designed and built but both their included instructions and attachment method (that I had to find on the internet) simply don’t work for the products they list as compatible.

I can’t say the $15-$20 knock-offs would be any better, but at least you don’t waste 2x-3x as much money for something that is just as unlikely to actually fit your laptop. Not sure if 3M or the seller will refund but have reached out to see what I need to do to get my money back.

Pros: It cut the glare of my Lenovo Yoga C930 screen, dramatically. The privacy feature works exactly as advertised and the screen cannot be seen unless you’re directly in front of it.

Cons: It cut the brightness of my screen, also dramatically. The adhesive strips lasted less than a week and pull away from screen a few times each day.

Works as advertised.

I work in a court setting and this works very well!!!
