I’ve always used a cup of vinegar to clean the dishwasher but it was starting to smell like a dead animal anyway. Finally broke down and ordered these tablets, and so far the first one has worked well – the dishwasher doesn’t smell.

We never cleaned our dishwasher since new and this is what kitchenaid recommended for cleaning. We set one in the detergent drawer and 1 in the bottom of the dishwasher as per the instructions and it came out looking like it was new. Great product.

We have a water softening system in our home. I always blamed it for the film on our glassware after it ran through the dishwater and have been washing my glasses by hand for the past 16 years. One treatment and, as a test, I ran the next load with my cut crystal. I had my fingers crossed but when I opened the dishwasher, I saw all the sparkling clean glass looking as good as new. I’m sold. I will continue to use this dishwasher treatment to keep it free of film. Yay… Problem Solved!

This is the only thing in the world that helps my dishes look clean. They were foggy and gross looking with food flecks even after washes and now after using like x2-3 tablets on empty dishwasher it’ll change the way your dishes look for sure. The only downside is the effect will go away if you don’t buy the product every month or two.

This review is for Affresh Dishwasher Cleaner, Helps Remove Limescale and Odor-Causing Residue, 6 Tablets. I purchased these, because I had been hearing and reading about them for years. My dishwasher is about seven years old, and it has a stainless steel interior. I use it almost once a day. The installing service tech recommended pouring in a cup of vinegar once a week before starting the dishwasher to keep it clean, and I have been doing that since new. I still get a considerable build of black mold/sludge around gaskets, caps, or any ridges. So, I decided to give Affresh a try. The dishwasher is ever so slightly cleaner after using Affresh, but I still have the mold issue. I should mention that I use an enzyme based detergent, not a bleach based one. That is because the enzyme based detergent is supposed to be less damaging to the dishwasher and safer for the environment. Prior to getting this dishwasher I used to use bleach based detergent, so I don’t know if that has anything to do with the mold issue. If I wasn’t using bleach weekly, I expect that I would have seen a bigger difference using Affresh monthly. The Affresh seems to work, and I think the results vary based on how often you use the dishwasher, the type of detergent you use, and if you clean it often with things like vinegar. Overall, it is obviously important for your dishwasher to be clean if you want it to last and also to be effective.

We have very hard water. I’ve tried lots of different things and my dishes came out dull looking. I saw this and thought I’d try it.
You can throw a tablet in the bottom of the dishwasher while you do dishes. My dishes have never looked like this – I was truly amazed!
