I can’t express enough what a difference these stove gap covers have made to my kitchen. For the longest time, I’ve struggled with getting food particles and crumbs into that annoying gap between my stove and counter. But these stainless steel guards are a perfect solution. The adjustable range is great and allows me to find the perfect position for my kitchen setup. They blend seamlessly with my stove and counters, giving a clean, continuous look. In addition to being beautiful, they are also very easy to clean.

Having a preteen in the house who can now make their own Mac and cheese, these things are a must. The 2 pieces come with 4 EA Styrofoam shims that are 1/8″ thick but they do have a little crush to them. I used 1 shim on 1 side and that’s all I needed. I think it looks good and has good functionality.

Ordered this and it works great to keep crumbs from falling in the crack by the oven. There are tabs on both ends that you can bend and snap off to make it fit no matter what size you have, it also bends at a 90° angle to cover the crack. They don’t mess with pans when you are cooking something which is nice. Made of a sturdy metal that I’m not afraid to use Heat next to. Definitely a good purchase that will save my back from cleaning behind the oven like we often have to. Also stopped liquids from running down the side and spaghetti sauce, which is an added bonus.

Watch the videos if you can’t quite get how these guards are supposed to fit into the gap between your stove and the counter. Once my husband watched the video with Mark G.’s customer review, showing him installing it, my husband understood the concept of these dandy gap fillers.

Basically, those cut-out “flowers” are the “springs” they talk about. So what you do is, bend the metal flower a bit at the base of the “stem,” and the flower becomes the adjustable “spring” that will push the guard snug up against your stove.

On our counter, the gap was already small, but the gap widens a little at the front. We bent in the flowers near the front end but left the ones toward the back unbent, so the guard actually customized to the space we needed to fill. The whole thing was a little bit too long, so we curved the scored flat end downward but didn’t break it off. (That part has corners but isn’t sharp, so it doesn’t present a danger.) Once we got the concept, these guards did just what they’re supposed to do.

In the past, we’ve had T-shaped guards that just lay across the gap, but they didn’t work well with our new stove because the stove is a smidgen taller than the counter, and the guard wouldn’t lie flat.

The lesson here is that if you’re having trouble figuring out an Amazon item, go back to the Amazon product page! It will usually be more helpful than whatever paper instructions come with the item, as in this case.

Must have for your kitchen. I was tired of them kids serving themselves and dropping food in cracks of stove. Looks great, match’s wonderfully. I’ve seen plastic one, those look cheap. These look great! Love that can bend or break the edges of there too long. Yay for clean cracks!

It took me a minute to figure out how to put these in. At first, I tried to slide them in from the front of the stove, but quickly realized that won’t work when you pull the little side tabs out. D’oh! So I popped them in from the top and they fit perfectly. I didn’t need to adjust anything. I slid them out to adjust the tabs a couple of times as the front of the stove has a bigger gap than the back. Now, they fit perfectly. There will still be a gap on the front two inches of the cover because that’s where it can be snapped off to be shortened. As such, it’s not L shaped on either end. But that’s not where food gets trapped, so it’s not an issue.

While these gap strips are decent quality, they only have a very narrow slat on top which does not adequately cover the gap between the stove and counter. In addition, the stove is curved at the back burner area so the gap cover will not sit flush. Well made but it does not work at all for the stove. It will probably work better for gas ranges.

The best thing about these are the springs and that they are metal. Our old gap cover was silicone but became damaged when using an oversized pan. The flames under the pan were just too close to the cover and it melted.

Because they’re metal melting is not possible. The springs are a nice touch to help them stay in place. They should be oriented so the back of the cover is flush to the wall otherwise your stove’s curvature will prevent them from fitting right. They really should have marked them as left and right to avoid confusion. They come tabbed on both ends for size adjustment in one inch increments. If you need to adjust for size by breaking off a tab Or two I suggest starting with the back of the stove guard first. There will be burrs after you crack off a tab. You could file it. I just did the back tab so it’s not near where I cook.

The only thing I wish these had was a complete gap seal that spans across the the entire gap from counter to stove. The way they are now you still have a minute gap because of the bend.

It’s still better than my melted one and it plugs most of the gap so it’s better than nothing.
