Having previously purchased the same kettle many years ago. It finally gave out after 5 years! Purchased a different kind and absolutely hated it. Returned to this one and I will never buy a different one! Water is ready very quick! Different temperature settings are great for different kinds of tea! I used the previous one multiple times a day every single day and only after 5 years the lid stopped closing every time. I tried to fix it and broke it off. Otherwise it still boiled water! If you are looking for a great kettle this one is it!

This item was expensive and it does its job very well on a daily basis. But what I noticed is there’s never chalk or calcium on the bottom. We always use filtered water and we always had chalk every several weeks. It was super hard to get rid of it. On this machine, there’s nothing. Looks absolutely like day one.Just look at the picture. I never used descale or vinegar.

I bought this to replace a similarly priced KitchenAid kettle I’ve had for several years only because I also have the Breville Milk Café frother. My major complaint about the Breville is how hot the exterior of the kettle gets. You won’t burn yourself, but you’ll definitely notice if you accidentally touch it. The temperature hold feature isn’t quite as long as I’m used to, and I always seem to be ready for another cup after it has already shut off. I also find the alert beep to be just a little too soft to notice sometimes. Everything about the Breville kettle looks and feels premium, but if I had to buy another kettle, I’d probably just go back to the one I had before since those at least go on sale.
