This is a great idea but…The device works and creates a vacuum. I actually do think the shakes taste better.The issue is that 1) it is worth about $10 from a manufacturing and engineering stand point. I believe I paid $100. 2) it takes a significant amount of time to seal the container. It’s probably 60 seconds but with my morning routine that seems like forever! I would not buy again.

I purchased the Super Q Blender last year (Aug ’19) principally to make smoothies & the vacuum-pump accessory last month (Jul 2020). The Vacuum-pump, does an excellent job of evacuating the air from the blender jug (for my approx. 16 fluid oz. fruit smoothies). When I use the pump, there is a distinct & noticeable enhancement of smoothie’s texture.The unit is extremely battery-intensive. Breville should have provided the pump with a rechargeable battery-pack, or better still, a power-tap-feed to the pump from the blender’s motor housing!Actually I am returning the unit, temporarily one hopes, (to Amazon before their 30-day return-goods window slams shut): Reason: on several occasions when the vacuum cycle completes, I had extreme difficulty separating the pump head from the valve assembly (high vacuum). Actually this speaks to the high quality of the product.

I ordered a Breville Fresh and Furious blender, which I love. When I saw the blender vacuum pump, I thought it was too pricey but I went ahead and ordered it, which I’m glad I did. My husband and I drink a lot of fruit juices and I’m always making a lot of sauces, sofritos, etc., and this little pump definitely enhances the flavor as advertised and cuts the foam that the air creates. Easy to use but READ the instructions for releasing the pump.
