    This is amazing! I love it! I’ve added smoke flavor to like everything or making recipes that smoke flavor would be great with just so I can use it! It’s so easy to use and clean. Put some wood dust in the hole, stick the hose under your bowl/tinfoil where the food is under turn the switch on, light the wood dust and watch it smoke away! Once the bowl is full of smoke turn it off and pull the hose out and drop the bowl to trap the smoke in! It only take a few seconds! I like to leave my food under the bowl with all the smoke for at least 10mins. So much flavor! Be mindful of what plate you sit the bowl on or if you’re using tinfoil that you can get a tight enough seal once you close that the smoke isn’t escaping. I’ve found that cheese holds and absorbs the most smoke so far. I would be careful if your kitchen is more enclosed you will have smoke in the room you’re using it in as the smoke will escape as you’re filling the bowl with the smoke and when you take the bowl off but that’s not as much. Also be mindful of what plate or dish you use to sit the food on because the smoke can stain the plate if you don’t wash it immediately or use something the smoke won’t stain. Can’t wait to add smoke to some more food!

    I got this for my partner for Christmas for smoking cocktails, and we love it! It was a very nice inexpensive option for us, but it still works really well. I’m not sure what flavor/scent of wood chip comes with it — I think maybe hickory, but I can’t recall — but it does come with a nice little pouch of chips to get you started. We burned through those pretty quickly; I’d definitely recommend getting a set of wood chips along with it at the beginning. (We got Breville’s set of mesquite, hickory, applewood, and cherrywood, and that’s been awesome for this.)

    It imparts really lovely flavors to our cocktails (and just straight up bourbon or rye, unsurprisingly) in about a minute, and is so easy to clean up. Part of the clean-up that I’d wish I known at the beginning is that you should remove the head of smoker, where the chip basket is, and clean off the smoky-scented oil that deposits there after you use it. I have a little brown oil stain in my drawer now after not having known about this. But it does come with a little velvet pouch, so if you stored it in there, there would be no issue, I would guess.

    One other thing we discovered is that this does not light easily with just a match. Fortunately, I have a little butane torch for baking, and that works great with this.

    Works like a charm. Super easy to set up and use. I love using cherry favored wood chips for a deeper subtle smoky and fruity flavor layer on cherry flavored sodas and cocktails. Especially great with slow melting clear ice balls in a glass.

    This is a simple hand smoker. It is not intended for heavy duty work, but for adding smoke flavor to cocktails or a little edge on already roasted or steamed fruits or veggies, this is the perfect tool. I borrowed a friend’s Breville model before I bought this one to make sure a smoking gun was what I really needed/ wanted for the applications I was attempting. This much less expensive model worked as well as the Breville with most wood chips, and better than the Breville with certain wood chips. I have used apple, hickory, peach, and pecan chips all with good levels of success.

    I have used chips made especially for smoking guns, and fine chips intended for outdoor smokers both with success.

    It takes just a little practice to seal up your container properly to achieve maximum smoke flavor. I love the compact size and the convenient storage bag.

    If you have a foodie on your list and don’t know what to get them, this is a fun and unique gift to give. Be sure to start them off with some different flavor smoking chips as well.

    The smoker works great. It functions exactly as it should. My only complaint is the “fit and finish” isn’t so great. Not a big deal. The battery compartment is downright bad. In all of my years of using batteries, this is probably within the top 10 worst battery doors and compartments I have ever seen. Otherwise, great smoker.

    Alex is a very conscientious businessman that always wants to do right with his customers. I’ve pointed out one or two possible improvements, and he is taking them under advisement. Although a small business, he is a hands on person that has the customer at heart. The smoker is a great device if you’re doing cold smoking, and I tend to get dizzy with it’s possibilities. That means you can smoke things you wouldn’t normally smoke, such as cheese (4-5 Min), chocolate (3-4 min freeze it after smoking, then break it into tiny pieces, then put over ice cream), and possibly even salmon Norwegian style, although I would have to try that one myself. As for some other smoking possibility tips, if you make homemade mayonnaise [much better than the store bought stuff] (it’s really super easy) a ratio of 3/4 cup corn oil mixed with 1/4 cup smoked olive oil gives it a delectable hard to define taste. In a high speed blender or food processor mix 1 egg, a little salt and pepper, a pinch of dry (or normal) mustard 1 Tbsp lemon juice, and any herbs you want included in your mayonnaise; on high speed slowly drizzle in your corn/olive oil mixture, and that’s it. Just keep in mind to always keep this mayonnaise cold, and that it has no preservatives, so you probably need to discard it after about a week. Smoking butter adds a whole new dimension to such things as vegetables, spaghetti, biscuits, even angel food cake; any place you use butter, but remember it needs to be heavily smoked, because other flavors reduce the concentration of smoke.

    I bought two of these and absolutely loved them but they have a tendency to burn out after 6 months. Two smokers, neither lasted a full year. This is a great tool/toy to have been it’s not reliable.
