I own a few kettles as I’ve never really found one that quite does everything I want it to — this one comes pretty darn close though!

The kettle is well made and looks quite stylish, it’s very lightweight. The welds, paint, etc. all appear high quality to my eyes. Water heats up quickly and the spout pours with ease, with a smooth stream for use in my pour over coffee makers.

The app is fine, you don’t really need it unless you want pinpoint accurate temps or if you want to use the timer features. I personally have stopped using it after the novelty wore off.

If you want a well made kettle with wifi features, this is the one to buy. If you don’t care about wifi, etc., you should look at other kettles which will probably be cheaper.

I bought this amazing tea pot to take with me on my last vacation this August, it was fantastic!
I was in a room with no coffee pot and I was able to make instant coffee, soup, tea with it and it was so easy to use, I LOVE IT!

Attractive kettle for one or two people however could not connect device to my phone after verifying my wifi password having correct wifi speed and trying all the manuals troubleshooting steps. I have an Android One Note however no issues with pairing to any other device.

Hence this expensive product is of little use to me as is. May have to return. No customer support number, just email.

CROWNFUL Smart Electric Gooseneck Kettle with Variable Temperature Control

This smart electric gooseneck kettle (it’s the first one I’ve owned or used) arrived well packed. My first thought was it’s beautiful. It looks exactly as listed.

The user manual is helpful. Even though it’s intuitive (to test and clean the kettle), I would have placed the “Before First Use” instructions (page 10), a little further up as a full kettle (filled to the easily visible MAX line) should be boiled before using.

My kettle seemed to work well, although I noticed that the “keep warm” function (an icon tells you the optional function is on) didn’t kick in until the boiled water cooled to 200 degrees F. Only once the boiled water cooled to 200 degrees did the kettle heat up again. I confirmed this a second time. This might be standard for electric kettles, I don’t know, but the manual states (Keep Warm Function on page 5) “Automatically keep the water at the same temperature for 1 hour.”

I’ve made several cups of tea that required two different temperatures (212 and 208 degrees F). Boiling is one of the four presets (180, 195, 205, and 212 F) so was easy to achieve. Trying to program 208 degrees F can’t be done without using the app, so for me this is a weak spot of the kettle as I’m choosing to not use the app. Without the app, the only options are the four presets and increments of 5 degrees (not 1 degree). So, I set it for 210 degrees and then watched for 208 degrees and picked up the kettle. Not a huge deal as the water heats up quite fast (a few minutes).

I will say that I had no way to double check the temperatures. I tried to take the temperature of boiled water, but it cooled so fast it was always lower. So, I can’t confirm that the temperatures reached are correct. The user manual states: “The temperature difference measured by water temperature, display screen and thermometer is +/- 37.4 degrees F (3%C)”, which is quite the range. ?

The app isn’t needed to use the kettle (but is needed to change the temperatures to Celsius). I didn’t use the app or set up the wifi (the kettle’s wifi icon can be turned off) so can’t attest to its helpfulness, but the manual states it might be updated periodically.

This kettle pours well, the handle stays cool, and it was relatively easy to use. The lid has three “tabs” (very small, thin pieces of metal) that can be pushed out/in to tighten/loosen the lid (I used a precision screwdriver to explore them – instructions just say to use a “tool”). The tabs were pushed all the way in as the default on my lid which was quite tight. I had to occasionally press the + or – buttons a couple times before they registered, but the “mode” button worked every time. I didn’t test the boil dry protection as I always add extra water and monitor the kettle while it’s being used.

All the teas I made were delicious, so even if the water temperatures weren’t perfect, the teas seemed appropriately hot (I had to wait quite a while for the boiled water to cool even after steeping the tea.) It has to be better than my old method of using our Keurig machine or boiling water on the stove.
