At first, I thought this machine was great, but here it is a just over a year and it doesn’t vacuum, and the rubber seal is falling off. Sooooo, I now have to replace the item. I’m not happy and won’t buy another food saver brand.
I must say, that since my last posting I contacted Foodsaver and they replaced my broken machine with a new and upgraded model. Nice to deal with and Koodos to them.

I bought this model based on a friend’s recommendation. I have been using this for a few months now and I love it. It is so much more efficient than trying to find bags and containers that fit the size of what you are freezing. This year instead of canning my tomato sauce I put it in vacuum bags and froze all of it. So much faster. Also works great for marinating, add meat and marinade and vacuum seal! Works much faster than conventional ways of just putting it in a container.

This compact Foodsaver has one big thing going for it: it stores away easily.
Now as to the machine itself:
It has no storage for rolls. No big deal for me. I find it more cumbersome to constantly swap out rolls than to just seal and cut to size.
It has no auto lock and release function. To get that you have to pay quite a bit more, and those machines are a lot bigger.
It has no auto seal function. You cut a bag from the roll, lay it in the machine, lock the machine by pressing down on both sides until it clicks and the green light comes on, then hit Seal. When it shuts off you depress the two buttons on the sides and the machine releases the bag. Take it out, fill it, put it back in the machine, and hit Vacuum. The machine will automatically switch to Seal mode one it detects no more air. The only difference between this and the expensive machines are the manual steps, but you get in a routine quickly.

A word on bags vs rolls: the quart bags are convenient, but I prefer the rolls in both small and large sizes. I cut the bags a lot longer than I need them and then open them just below the seal. I wash and reuse the bags until they get too short for anything. I write the contents on the strip ABOVE the seal, that way there is no confusion as to contents since that strip gets cut away. Doing this cuts way down on having to constantly buy these expensive bags. – Also, when I fill a bag I turn the edge down so that part of the bag always stays clean which makes for a clean seal. I hope these hints from a Foodsaver “oldtimer” help.

The FoodSaver stopped working after 6 months but I was able to submit a warranty claim and received a better model than I had purchased as a replacement within 2 weeks of submitting claim.

I am so disappointed. I wanted one of these things for a long, long time and I finally got this one. What a waste of money! The very first time I used it, it worked fine. Ever since then it seems to be broken. For one thing, the lid won’t close properly. I’ve read in many of these reviews that you have to push very firmly on the corners but that’s what I did and it still won’t close. I have to push down on it very firmly for the lights to come on, and hold it like that until the suctioning or the sealing is finished. Not easy to do with my arthritic hands. I don’t know if it has anything to do with the lid’s failure to close, but there is also insufficient suction. Some air gets removed from the bag, but certainly not all of it.

My little cheapo hand-held Fresh Saver works way better than this thing, so I guess I’ll go back to using that. The only reason I wanted to switch to this Food Saver in the first place is that I thought the suction would be more powerful, and I liked the idea of being able to customize the bag size. Too bad the Food Saver falls short of the third feature: it has to actually work.

I had the original food saver mini for twenty plus years amd the day it broke a small piece of me died with it. I bought this one amd it works very well. Hopefully it with withstand the sands of time as well as the older models. ..this model is just as easy to use as the original mini food saver. I am glad i can use other bag sizes with thos model. Definately worth the money spent.

I recently purchased the FoodSaver VS0150 PowerVac Compact Vacuum Sealing Machine, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. This review is not only from my perspective but also from the viewpoint of my husband, who is an avid hunter. This machine has become an indispensable tool for storing large amounts of game meat and other perishable items.

First and foremost, the storage capacity of the FoodSaver PowerVac is impressive. It allows us to seal and store significant quantities of meat, ensuring its long-term freshness and quality. As a hunter, my husband often brings home a bounty of game meat, and this vacuum sealer has made the process of preserving it much more convenient and efficient.

The PowerVac’s vertical design is a game-changer, as it takes up minimal counter space. Its compact size doesn’t compromise its performance or functionality. It’s easy to find a dedicated spot for it in our kitchen without sacrificing too much valuable workspace.

The sealing process itself is quick and hassle-free. The machine provides a strong and secure seal every time, effectively removing the air and preventing freezer burn. The result is perfectly sealed packages that maintain the flavor and texture of the food for extended periods. This level of preservation gives us peace of mind, knowing that our hard-earned game meat won’t go to waste.

Additionally, the FoodSaver PowerVac is user-friendly and intuitive. It features simple controls and clear indicators, making it easy to operate. The vacuum sealing process is straightforward, and the machine handles it with efficiency and precision.

Moreover, the PowerVac’s durability is worth noting. It is designed to withstand regular use and has proven to be a reliable companion in our kitchen. The build quality is solid, and we have not experienced any issues or malfunctions since purchasing it.

Overall, the FoodSaver VS0150 PowerVac Compact Vacuum Sealing Machine has exceeded our expectations and provided immense value for our hunting lifestyle. It allows us to store large quantities of game meat with ease and confidence. The compact size, efficient sealing performance, and user-friendly operation make it a top-notch choice for anyone who needs to preserve their food for an extended period. My husband and I are both extremely satisfied with this purchase, and it definitely deserves a well-earned five-star rating.

Once I got rid of my house and moved to a smaller condo this m has been the perfect sized foodsaver. I don’t feel like it’s a downgrade I feel like it’s just as strong in a more compact footprint. Same great storage bags, seal, power , and ease of use, yet small enough leave on the countertop.
