This is a good monitor but as with most monitors if you want to match your laptop and/or other screens you will have to tweak the color profile. Even if you don’t have a screen to match, there is one quality of life change you should do regardless:

There is a noticeable green tint with the default settings, thus making whites look dirty. To fix this you should go to the monitor’s menu, click the center icon, go to color, and then RGB Gain Adjust. Here you should set Red to 245, Green to 235 and keep Blue at 255. Your monitor’s whites and overall color will look as it should. Mine is a BOE panel so you may not have to do this if you received an LG one.

I have a mac and I spent quite some time trying to find the best color profile to replicate my 2021 MacBook Pro’s retina display. You can change your color profile in you Mac’s system settings > displays > (click on the OMEN screen on top) > color profile. What I chose was “sRGB IEC61966-2.1”. This profile best matches Apple’s native XDR display color profile.

I have a few monitors and this is my new favorite. I specifically wanted a 2k monitor as it’s the sweet spot in having a high-res screen while not over straining your hardware.

P.S. To turn it sideways, so that it doesn’t hit the table, tilt the monitor up as far as it goes (so the bottom is towards you) and then move it clockwise.

I’ve had it for a few months now and I’m satisfied with the performance and looks. I’m getting around 100 FPS, which is an improvement over my 60Hz monitor. I’m sure I’d get more if my GPU was better.

The HP Omen 27Q is a really good budget monitor that’s great for 2023 and even next year in 2024. It has a nice 1440p screen with colors that look really good from different angles. The screen also has a special coating that prevents glare, which makes it awesome for using in an office.

But this monitor isn’t just for gamers. I use it for editing videos and photos, and the colors look pretty accurate for basic and somewhat serious work. If you’re into gaming, the monitor works really well too. It can show up to 165 frames every second, which makes games look super smooth, and it reacts quickly to your actions.

The monitor’s build quality is decent. It’s mostly made of plastic, but the stand is metal, so it’s sturdy. It’s pretty much what you’d expect from a monitor like this. One thing I wish it had is a way to mount it on a wall, which would be helpful for more professional setups.

All in all, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly monitor that has a clear QHD screen and can handle fast-paced gaming and some serious work tasks, the HP Omen 27Q is a really solid choice.

Amazing quality screen. I love how bright and vivid the screen is. It is exactly as described. Do note– the base is quite heavy. I particularly liked the easily adjustable height and the easy assembly. Fantastic quality for gaming in particular.

Received one with a BOE panel (REV B0BT1121). I was a bit concerned about the bad reviews regarding this panel, but I gave it a shot anyway. I did not buy it for gaming purposes, so I did not test the higher refresh rates. Anyway, colors seemed acceptable and I didn’t have flicker issues (though I didn’t have it turned on very long). Viewing angles were in my opinion also acceptable, though my Acer IPS monitors seem to be a tad better in this regard. However, I did find 2 dead pixels. One in a corner (actually barely noticeable), but the other one is on the left side of the screen and quite noticeable and annoying. Doesn’t look like specks of dust behind the glass, but just black pixels that refuse to change color. One would think that a high resolution camera at the end of the factory line would catch this type of thing in less than a second. Anyway. hopefully the replacement is better. Will update this review once I receive the replacement.

UPDATE: Received a replacement (REV L0IT1111) with LG panel and no defective pixels. I would say while the BOE panel was acceptable, the LG panel does appear to be producing better picture quality. Not really noticeable with just pictures, but text does appear to look a tad better. The biggest difference I immediately noticed is that the viewing angle is amazing on the LG panel, with very little color distortion. Anyway, I am glad I received a replacement with an LG panel, it does appear quite superior.

It has the specs we were looking for, missed the fact that it’s not a touchscreen which I would have liked available, even occasionally.

For around $200, it can’t be beat. 165hz and a qhd display were the selling points for sure, just beware of the higher response time of 5 ms.
I also had some concerns about the pixels burning when I first got it. It looked like a tab that was open for a while had burnt in, as a shadow of it was still there after I closed it. I updated drivers and haven’t had the problem since
