As a Black Friday Special for $99 delivered it’s difficult to argue with this. Light, easy to set up and move, one power cord and an HDMI cable, you’re done. That said, there’s a couple of things to note. It is a 21.5″ display but it feels smaller. The listing here has a lot of incorrect information, e.g., the dimensions shown in a picture use the width and length of the shipping box, not the actual monitor, which is 12″x19.75″. Sure, you could work that out roughly if you did the math yourself but a pic is worth a thousand sums right? I was going by the physical monitor measurements as I was trying to visualize this sitting on my desk. Their pic is wrong and I wish I’d bought something slightly larger. Second, the resolution is ok, not great. I calibrated it on my Mac myself to get things a little sharper – which helped, so be prepared to set up to your environment. The controls for the monitor itself are small buttons on the bottom and a little fussy for menu navigation but you can learn their operation quickly. That said, I would not characterize the screen as high resolution. So, decent enough for the price, but a little disappointing in terms of actual quality and size. Unless price is your only driver, I’d look elsewhere.

Update- I had to redo plugging in the cord to fix the flicker, which I had tried before, but apparently I wasn’t using enough force to get it in.

I got the monitor on sale. The box it comes in is the product box itself, which was a surprise. The picture quality is good and my only complaint is that the connection to the monitor seems just a little off- sometimes if I bump the cord or when I was first installing it, the picture cut out. Shouldn’t be a problem if your cords are kept isolated.

I like the monitor itself, however every time I bump it or adjust it, the power goes out. The power cord connection is in there tight, but I have to pull it out and reinsert it several times before the monitor gets power. I thought I could live with it at first, but its gotten to be a hassle.

UPdate. The problem seems to be in the power cord HP sent. I connected with a different cord, and so far the problem hasn’t happened. I will update again if it does.

I bought two monitors on Black Friday and overall I think they’re great! I use them for when I am working from home. They’re lightweight, super easy to put together, and easy to connect to.

My only complaint is the power plug. It seems too loose and disconnects. They feed straight up and in and maybe it’s gravity pulling it but it’s a very annoying problem.

I do mostly Excel, browsing and some video editing. I have 3 of these although 2 I purchased on sale directly from Acer. I needed the 3rd one to match the other two and was glad to find it and a very good price on Amazon. The build quality is great. The pictures & video look stunning. The frame isn’t too wide but it’s not at all thin like some of the other monitors. I’ve had these for a long time and they never fail. The only peeve is when you turn off the computer the blue on off switch continues to flash. You have to hit the power switch on the monitor to stop that.

As you can see in my photos this monitor has 100 x 100 VESA points on the back. Those 4 screws on the back are not frame screws holding the monitor together as other reviews seem to think, thus complaining that it’s not VESA compatible, those are supposed to come out to mount the VESA plate.

As for the monitor itself it works fine for what I bought it for, to attach to a 14″ laptop for a larger screen to work with.

Very good upgrade for the price; have only found one problem, the power cord is very “touchy” where it plugs into the monitor, the slightest movement to the cord or the monitor shuts the monitor off. Seems to plug in reasonably tight, and as long as the monitor or the power cord is not moved, no problem at all.

I use this monitor in my garage for my workouts. The plug for the monitor did not fit very well. It kept coming loose. I replaced it and it works great. I have a mini pc, which I purchased from Amazon, connected to this monitor and it’s a great combo. My 14″ laptop will find a new home soon. Size does matter!
