I was looking for a new automatic drip coffeemaker that is simple to use and was moderately-priced. This one had all four things I wanted – a cone-shaped basket, multiple-holes to shower the coffee evenly, a glass carafe and the pause function. That’s it. A 10 cup carafe suits us and I like that it does not take up much counter space. It is also very quiet which was a surprise. I am impressed with the quality of this one. The coffee I’ve made has been very good but I do buy a good brand. We mostly just have some in the morning so I don’t mind spending a bit more. Krups also has a programmable model for a few dollars more.

Bought it as a gift for my dad and he loves it. He likes to make his coffee and drink on his way to work so this is perfect because he can just brew the coffee straight on the travel mug. It’s also very compact so it doeesn’t take as much space as other coffee makers.

I bought the 5 cup model. I really like the machine, perfect for a small place and it brewed good coffee. Much better than the other brands that I owned previously. The lid is easy to open and close. I am giving it four stars because this doesn’t have automatic shut off even though Amazon’s description refers to keeping the coffee 1 hour warm, which I assumed that it will automatically turn off. You have to go to the comparison page to find out that it doesn’t have automatic shut off as compared to other Krups machines. I even called Krups thinking that my machine was broken. Besides lacking this safety function, it’s a very good machine.

Se apaga a los 60 minutos y así no permite que se queme el café. Un sólo botón lo hace muy simple. El resultado es un excelente café.

The Krups Simply Brew 5-Cup Coffee Maker is a compact and efficient addition to your kitchen. I was tired of having a large coffee pot taking up space on my counter when I only used it for entertaining or when we had company. If you need to brew just a few fresh cups at a time, I really like this coffee maker and the Krups brand. It my go-to next to Braun.

Design: stainless steel design in silver and black adds a modern touch to your countertop. With 650 watts of power, it brews a pot of coffee quickly. The compact size is great for those with limited counter space.

Filters & cleaning: One of the standout features is the coffee filter, which ensures a drip-free brewing process. No more messy spills to clean up. The coffee pot is also dishwasher safe, making post-brew cleanup a breeze.

Some things to keep in mind:
    – this is a limited capacity brewing coffee maker so keep that in mind when ordering, it was even a bit smaller than I had envisioned when I unboxed it.
-No Programmable Timer: This coffee maker lacks a programmable timer, which means you can’t set it to start brewing at a specific time, which might be a drawback for those who prefer waking up to freshly brewed coffee.
—Some users might find it lacking in advanced features like adjustable brew strength, temperature control, or the ability to brew different coffee sizes.
-Short Power Cord: The coffee maker’s power cord is relatively short, which may limit where you can place it in your kitchen.

Overall, the Krups Simply Brew Coffee Maker delivers on its promise of simplicity, durability, and great-tasting coffee. It’s an excellent choice for those looking for a reliable, space-saving coffee maker.

I have had a 12 cup coffee pot in the past and I used to drink about that much each day. I found the last few cups were awful. So, when I broke the carafe, I shopped to find a smaller coffee pot.
This coffee maker is a 5 cup maker. I figured out I can fudge a bit more water in it and it will give me nearly six cups. This maker does not have a timer, nor does it have an automatic off switch. To me, that is a small price to pay to trade off what I was looking for.
Great little coffee maker and is perfect for a one coffee drinker per house. It is easy to clean and I especially like the rinseable grind holder that replaces the traditional coffee filter method I had been using.

We got this through the Vine program and spent a good amount of time with it before posting our review here. First item arrived in a damaged internal box. External box was fine, but the inner boxes were crushed a bit. When we unpacked the coffee maker, it had a dent right in the front. So, we exchanged for an undamaged one. Second one arrived in perfect shape.

We used this coffee maker for about 2 weeks. We were using a Bunn coffee maker (20 years old, built like a tank, and no frills) and the only reason we considered a new one was for the timer feature. This coffee maker looks nice, but feels like a significantly lesser quality than the Bunn. But, it works well.

    The good:
    – Timer function works great.
    – Strength adjustment (not sure if it’s a gimmick, but it can be adjusted).
    – Reusable/washable filter basket.
    – Looks nice.
    – GREAT customer service by Krupps (explained below).

    The bad:
    – Lightweight, made with a lot of plastic.
    – Reusable filter works OK, but you get very fine grit at the bottom of each cup of coffee.
    – Easy to overflow (explained below).

So, the second unit we got was flawless and we used it for about a week with the reusable filter basket. We noticed a bit of ‘sludge’ or very fine grit at the bottom of each cup of coffee. We decided to try without the reusable filter basket and use a paper filter instead. That’s where we had another (and much bigger issue). Came downstairs about 1/2 hour after the coffee should have been made to hear the coffee maker gurgling and still brewing. That seemed odd, so when I went and checked on it, I noticed that there was very little coffee in the carafe. The filter basket had been lifted up so that the plunger to release the coffee was NOT depressed. The carafe should push the plunger in the bottom of the filter basket. In this case, the whole basket lifted up and therefore was not letting brewed coffee flow out the bottom into the carafe. Instead, the filter basket overflowed and spilled partially brewed coffee and grounds all over the counter and back down into the reservoir! So, it was constantly sending partially brewed coffee back up to the overflowing basket and back down into the reservoir.

I examined the coffee maker and the basket has a raised tab on it. I assumed that the lid should contact that tab to hold the basket down. The lid is curved or warped, so there was a 1/4″ – 1/” gap between the underside of the lid and the tab on the filter. I called Krups and they were VERY helpful. They sent a return label and I mailed the coffee maker back to them. They tested it and could not get the problem to happen again. They said the gap between the lid and the tab on the filter basket is supposed to be there. The returned the coffee maker and followed up with a call and explanation of what was tested. We agreed that it must have been a fluke. I still wonder why they put a raised tab on the filter basket if it’s NOT supposed to be held down by the lid, but it is what it is. The only thing I can think is the time it overflowed, maybe the filter with the grounds was not all the way down into the notch causing the carafe to NOT depress the plunger. It has worked fine since.

Top notch customer service, nice coffee maker. Could use some improvement, but overall works good.

It looks nice, but I suspect the stainless steel is steel colored plastic as it is very light! Just felt cheaply made, although it brewed a very nice cup of coffee. I also worry about the touch pad controls; a bit finicky to turn it on. The older Krups models were better made; I used to sell them in a kitchen shop. For $115.00 (what I paid), I want a better made machine. A pipe dream, maybe.
