Laptop looks great and appears to work well. Disappointed in the power supply that was sent with the laptop – looks like it was pulled out of a corner in the basement. It’s not even the right power supply so a converter was included. Otherwise, I’m quite happy with this purchase.

I bought this for backing up photos and specifically because it has an SD Card reader. Initially the SD Card reader would not detect the card. I updated the firmware and drivers – still did not work. Then checked the BIOS and it was disabled in the BIOS. After enabling it, the card reader works. And while editing the BIOS, I noticed that it has a TPM 2.0 chip – also disabled. I enabled that as well and that should allow an upgrade to Windows 11. The settings are probably from a restrictive corporate environment from the previous owner. It would have been nice to have turned them on when refurbishing the device, but everything works OK now.

No sirven las baterías de la computadora, ni la interna ni la externa. Hasta parece fraude por que la publicación dice que tendrán un rendimiento del 80% y no tienen nada, están hasta inchadas inservibles.

Bought a t490 with an i5 in it previously and I like it so much, when I saw this model priced out, I had to get it. This one needed a lot of updates before it was running Windows full polish, but it’s cool, just thought it was kinda funny. how old is your install drive? ha ha Anyway, at first the touch pad didn’t do scroll function, and the screen refresh looked a bit off, but after several windows updates it pulled the updated drivers and everything works great just like my other one. It looks brand new except some tiny dings on the corners, but very minor. The rest of it looks factory fresh. All ports and buttons work, including the wonkey ethernet port. Thanks again for a great laptop at a decent price! 🙂

Software is as described – fresh Windows 10 Pro OS installation. Hardware is as described – 500gb disc, 24gb ram, i7-8650U CPU.

However, the “refurbished” laptop I received has a battery that was dead on arrival, 0%, and refusing to hold a charge. It only works while plugged in.

The laptop body itself has more than a couple dings, dents, and scratches (see pics). The refurb sticker material they put on the body is poorly cut and applied, having gaps and misalignments on every piece and side. The keyboard and trackpad has dirt and gunk crusted into them. The screen similarly has dirt and gunk crusted onto it. The OEM stickers are all scratched and/or peeling.

I would hesitate to call this a refurbished laptop. Very dissatisfied.

Overall the laptop is in good condition cosmetically and appears to function properly. Except it came with an aftermarket charger, and the battery is junk. If I leave the laptop off the charger overnight with a full charge, it won’t turn on the next day. Then when I plug it in to the charger, it shows it’s at half charge. I was just using it and it went from 20%-0 in less than 15 mins. There is definitely something wrong with the battery.

To start, the t480s is a great laptop. All the ports I could ever want, keyboard is one of my favorites ever, the screen gets very bright, and the battery life is pretty dang good even when working with multiple applications open at once.

Specifically for these reburb models, mine came in in perfect condition. Every port and every key works, like I said the battery life is incredible, screen is bright, and no damage to the case or anything. Same goes for the charger, perfect condition. Also getting an I7-8th gen, 24gb ram, and 512gb ssd for $350.. It’s a very good deal.

My experience with this laptop, besides the initial boot to make sure the keys and ports worked properly, has been entirely on Arch Linux. But I’m sure for windows users the experience is likely very similar. Great laptop and honestly thank you to the guys running this shop.

I’ve now used this exclusively for about a month. It’s quite fast. I’m running Debian with gnome. I wish it had ooooone more usb port but I am really happy with everything about it. Battery holds a charge for hours. I don’t know how long but most of the workday at least. Linux install was flawless and man was it good to get rid of whatever that Windows thing was. Some days after getting it I brushed the screen and learned it has a touchscreen, too! Hard to believe how inexpensive computing is nowadays.
