TL;DR This monitor is fantastic. The size is excellent and the selection of plugs and IO are absolutely amazing. Picture quality is fantastic and the refresh rate is sufficient for most gamers. The only downsides to this monitor are the price, and some annoyances or problems with the creature comforts like the RGB lighting on the back and the mouse cable bungee which are poorly done. MSI’s software is also quite poor and conflicts with other software such as Corsair iCUE.

    ——Full Review——
This is an excellent monitor, and at ~$1000 it really should be. The graphics are crisp and the on-paper specs are fantastic and definitely enough or more than enough for most gamers. I found the degree of control and customization offered by the on-screen menus is excellent. In particular, the sheer amount of IO provided in this monitor is impressive – and it should be considering that the monitor has a built in KVM switch.

In my testing, I found that the KVM switch works consistently and its ability to auto-detect which computer to direct the USB ports to is really good. I did perceive some latency in gaming when running my wireless mouse and keyboard through the KVM switch and did have some issues updating my peripherals while plugged into the monitor instead of directly to the computer. If you are a gamer who cares about latency, then I recommend you keep your peripherals plugged directly into your computer.

This brings me to another minor annoyance. The monitor includes a built in mouse cable bungee – which is a fantastic idea and a nice value add, however because it’s attached to the bottom side of the monitor, this means that if your monitor is positioned on one side of your desk rather than in the middle, the bungee may be more of an annoyance. As someone who uses a wireless mouse, the bungee is not useful to me, and I would have rather not had that feature and saved a couple bucks.

Lastly, and in my opinion this is the biggest issue with this monitor – the RGB. I don’t know what it is about MSI’s RGB but it simply cannot replicate colours effectively. Any colour that I select in the MSI Mystic Light software look off. Orange looks red, red looks pink, blue looks green, yellow looks green. I was hoping to be able to match the orange RGB from all my other components and peripherals, however this is simply impossible with MSI’s RGB software. Fortunately the lights on the back of the monitor aren’t really visible anyway since the monitor is so large it covers the wall. MSI’s software is also horrendous. Initially the monitor did show up in the software, however it has since disappeared. The MSI software also caused problems with several other RGB components such as my Corsair Dominator RAM. I was able to fix this after looking at videos on workarounds, but will likely delete the software altogether.

Overall, if you can justify the cost of this monitor, it’s a great unit for overall graphical performance. The creature comforts and perks offered are just okay and may or may not be useful.

Cheapest 4k 144hz monitor I could find in any platforms. You got what you expected – but nothing more. A good budgeted choice.

This is really a great monitor. I have it for 2 months now.
I did a lot of research before purchasing a new monitor. I needed a gaming monitor, but I wanted to be able to connect a laptop to the monitor with only one cable.
This monitor has a combination of features I didn’t find in any other: 27 inch, 4K, high refresh rate (144hz), USB-C with power delivery of 65w (there are other 4K monitors with high refresh rate that support only 18w of power delivery – I don’t know any laptops that it’s sufficient for), and the bonus – 500 nits of brightness! I always been frustrated by 300-350 nits of brightness. Remember the brightness calibration screen on Rockstar games? Finally I can see all the separate bars as it should. Also, The screen is fully adjustable – height, and 90 degrees tilt both directions.

The price was 360$ before tax and shipping which is a great price for all these features which I didn’t find on any other monitor.
Above all – picture quality is great, 4K videos look beautiful.
Two problems I had and have been solved:
    1. I changed some of the settings and the monitor started flickering on 144hz – not the regular flickering but lost signal every 1-2 seconds (like i restarted the computer). The monitor was unusable. on 120hz it was fine. After a few days it was solved and now I use it on 144hz with no problem.
    2. Standby – after about two weeks, when I turned off the computer the monitor got into standby mode for a few seconds, and then went back on even the computer was not sending signal. I changed the cable from HDMI to DP and now it’s fine.

Bottom line – Highly recommended! A combination of features I didn’t find in any other monitor for a great price.

Very happy with this monitor for the price. I use OLED for my tv. But, didn’t want to spend too much for a mixed use PC monitor or risk burn in. Checks all the boxes for something I can happily use for 6-10 years until monitor technology improves. 4k, clean panel, great design and ergonomics, good refresh rate, good brightness and contrast for edge lit IPS, great uniformity, no noticable backlight bleed, nicely saturated colors that can be tuned down if you prefer accuracy. Software to control OSD settings is really nice. Two year warranty which is better than the LG one year and makes me comfortable not wasting money on an extended warranty.
Extremely minimal IPS glow. Great uniformity. Great motion handling.
First unit had a cluster of dead pixels in the corner and second unit was perfect. Both units were great with regards unoticable backlight bleed and IPS glow, which tells me the panels are being assembled properly. I looked at other monitors in this price range and they either had reliability issues or backlight bleed, or other assorted issues.

Only disadvantages don’t bother me. 1. If you are very picky about black levels on a monitor 2. Needing two change the panel mode from normal to fast at about 100hz. Neither issue bothers me.
In conclusion, best 4k 32″ high refresh IPS monitor for the money.

My experience with the MSI MAG274UPF 27″ 4K Gaming Monitor has been nothing short of exceptional. The moment I integrated it into my setup, I was captivated by its impressive features and performance.

The 27″ Rapid IPS display boasting a resolution of 3840 x 2160 (UHD) is a visual feast. The level of detail and clarity it delivers is remarkable, making everything from gaming graphics to content creation truly immersive. The 144Hz refresh rate ensures a seamless display without any lingering afterimages, providing a competitive edge for gamers and a smoother experience for any multimedia consumption.

What caught my attention is the outstanding 1ms response time. Screen tearing and choppy frame rates are virtually non-existent, creating a fluid and responsive environment. The wide 178° visible angle adds another layer to the visual experience, maintaining consistency and vibrancy from various viewing positions.

The Adaptive Sync technology, including FreeSync Premium and G-Sync compatibility, is a game-changer. It effectively tackles screen tearing, contributing to uninterrupted gameplay. This flexibility is further extended by the monitor’s ergonomic design, allowing for tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments. Customizing the viewing experience has never been easier or more comfortable.

HDR400 support enhances the dynamic range, bringing out vibrant colors and deep contrasts. The monitor’s versatility extends to its connectivity options, including HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort, catering to a variety of devices and setups.

In summary, the MSI MAG274UPF stands as a pinnacle of gaming monitor excellence. Its combination of cutting-edge features, thoughtful design, and stunning visual performance make it a standout choice. Whether you’re a passionate gamer or a content creator seeking precision, this monitor is an investment worth making.

This is a fantastic monitor for a very reasonable price. Setup is easy, and everything looks great out of the box. The built-in software and “Gaming Intelligence” app make it easy to perform adjustments and use the wide variety of available features.

Very good monitor. I was looking specifically for a 4K monitor that had a fast pixel time, such that I wouldn’t have ghosting/smearing/stuttering in games. This monitor is fantastic for that need: very clear picture, very smooth images (when measured at 960fps super-high-speed video recording). Also, the 600 nits of brightness provides a decent compromise for the contrast limitations of IPS. The included USB solution is very neat; I really like being able to use an application on my computer to control the monitor settings, as an alternative to the little joystick on the back.

All-in-all, it met all my needs and I’m very happy with it, so I can solidly recommend this monitor. That said, there are some limitations that could be detriments for other users:

    1) Despite the images making it look like it has a miniscule side/top bezel, it actually has a large gap between where the screen ends and the bezel begins. I found this to be a bit of misleading advertising, though the disappointment was ultimately just cosmetic for me since I’m not using a multi-monitor setup.

    2) The IPS glow is very real. It doesn’t bother me because I use the monitor in a well lit room and sit far enough away that the angles aren’t bothersome, but looking down at it from above the whole monitor is washed out and the local dimming effect is very visible on the bottom of the monitor when you have a light-on-dark environment (ie: mouse cursor over black background).

    3) I am only able to attain 160Hz using Displayport with the bundled in cable; the bundled in HDMI cable capped out at 140Hz. I didn’t try any 3rd party DP or HDMI cables, but this could be a limit for someone using a video source that only has HDMI output.

    4) The included USB cable to connect the monitor to a PC is very short, shorter than the included DP or HDMI cables. It’s a long stretch to my case.

    5) I needed to download drivers for the monitor from the MSI site to get HDR and 160Hz working on my computer.

This monitor is impeccable for gaming. Probably the best on that matter. but two things that let me down were 1: the matte coating on it was noticeable when on a white background; which makes it look like the screen is a little fogged up from humidity even tho it’s dry. And 2: the colors from the factory were extremely washed out. I had to use both the monitor settings and also go to the NVidia settings to get accurate colors; and even after that it’s not as good as ASUS’s TUF & ROG lines for color accuracy.

The Monitor is really smooth though and the panel itself looks really nice. Again, if you plan on solely using this panel for gaming, go ahead. It is one of the best in the market for that. Now if you plan on using this for work or school, I’d recommend you try something different.
