He was asking to assemble a new PC, and this motherboard turns out to hit all the right spots. A beautiful design (new ID than the pervious CARBON) as well as the straight forward bios compatible with the latest 14900K a great piece for the build if anyone is looking to build a high-end system. 2.5G LAN and Wifi7 feature were equipped as well. Theres no manual included in the box but customer service from MSU provides big help while we have questions. However, if you have built PC yourself before, you probably won’t need one. In conclusion, highly recommended!

Overall performance is great however price and WiFi network card are my only two reasons why I did not give it the fifth star. MSI could go Intel wireless card instead Qualcomm just to justify the price on this motherboard. Qualcomm drivers and hardware are simply not that friendly when it comes to set up for the fist time or specially when adding or removing Bluetooth devices. I just upgraded its wifi card to Intel.

The MSI MPG Z790 CARBON MAX WIFI pair with Intel i9-13900K and NVIDIA RTX 4080 Super gave me all my computing need for many years to come. Photoshop, AutoCAD, and other bandwidth intensive applications which used to lag on my old rig no longer. I am impressed with the quality, stability, appearance of the motherboard. The RGB feature is nice, but not a necessity in my line of work. The onboard Wi-Fi 7 however improved my wireless network by 25%. Overall content with this purchase and would recommend to others.

Got an inte14th CPU so to replace the current Gaming desktop i am using. This board come across. Msi has been solid about it’s MB. good product nice feature beautiful design. I used to buy ASUS but less dollar I can get same spec one from Msi. 2.5G LAN/ Wifi7 / ARGB and new ID. I like it. the actual product is better than the image! Can’t wait to put them together!

I picked this motherboard because it fits into my black build with some accent lighting and it supports 14th generation Intel out of the box. I was considering an Asus or Asrock motherboard but they didnt seem to fit my built too well and Asus couldn’t confirm if their motherboard from Amazon would support 14th gen or need a BIOS update so I didnt bother with their board. The VRM and VRM cooling is also seriously overbuilt on this thing so I wont have to worry about my 14900K having power issues. Leaps and bounds faster than my 9900k system and it’ll be more than enough for my needs for years to come.

Has tons of options. I did replace the cpu bracket. The quick mount m.2 clips are fancy. I like the build. It was my first build so the flash bios button was a lifesaver when it was time to download all the bios/driver updates.

I’m going to be honest here, a big reason why I got the Carbon Wifi II (specifically over the Carbon Wifi I) is because of the inverse RGB-lit part of the board. With Mystic Light it really pops my PC.. it’s so VIBRANT. Aside from that, love the connectivity especially with future-proofed WiFi 7, and I love the cooling considerations MSI put on these boards overall – the heatsinks are plentiful and also nice to look at… and hey, the tool-less M.2 install feature does well for my lazy butt, lol
All in all great motherboard! Would purchase again.

    Pros:
Mobo looks great and feels sturdy and solid, Natively supports the 14th gen cpus.
Installation was ok (Lacks a system fan header on the top of the board, which is a must in my opinion).
    Cons:
    Driver issues:
    – Wifi doesn’t work nor recognized, can’t get it to work no matter what I try.
    – Front Usb type-C (2×2)- doesn’t work as should.
    – The USB driver dongle that comes with the mobo, did work at first, but has stopped working due to something support asked me to try.

Biggest issue for me is- Support !!!
    – Msi communicates with me only through tickets- which means every request they make and every response- takes about two days. Something that could probably be solved within half an hour- is in progress for over a week now with the only outcome of a non functioning Dongle.

The carbon wifi z790, is my second mobo, replacing the msi unify z690 they I had returned do to lack of an igpu support (my bad for missing that fact). The unify also had some issues that I didn’t get a chance to address before returning it.
To conclude- I really regret going with an msi product for a mobo which basically means that I will probably need to learn and live with these defects since I’m not gong to rebuild my rig again…
    I wouldn’t say it’s a 500$ piece of junk, but it’s definitely not money well spent…
    TL;DR :
    I don’t recommend it NOR msi…
