I bought this motherboard to replace my asus rog motherboard wich i bought in august ive had 2 asus mobos and had nothing but issues with them. I bought this msi mobo wich has a gen 5 slot for m.2 drive and 4 gen 4 slots for my other 4 drives wich i have raided. I cant say how great this mobo is i plugged it in right away it worked no issues no troubleshooting just straight worked out of the box thats what i like when i buy a mobo. My new favorite company from now on is MSI they have great mobos and actually work great they stuff tends to be alittle cheaper the mobo i bought was about 55 bucks more then the asus i wanted but it turned out to be worth it in the end. If your looking for a new mobo buy this you wont regret it.

The MPG Z70 Edge TI Max combines a modern, sophisticated design with the latest features and dependable performance. Pairing a 14900k with MSI’s S360 AIO and their M480 Pro Play SSDs to maximize the motherboard’s potential, it handles anything — from gaming to virtualization — with ease.

Now I feel like a victim of marketing. A month ago I bought an MSi z790 edge wifi ddr5 for my 13900k. I compared with a similar white board from ASUS. Asus was good, but I decided to stick with MSI (the chatter in the comments about Asus not working well under warranty convinced me). Everything was fine, the board worked stably from flashing the BIOS, installing drivers for win10 (because this particular version of windows is not raw and looks like a finished product), to overclocking XMP profiles. There were no complaints until MSi guys came out this at the end of October. Marketers promised better cooling of the power phases and m2 – complete nonsense, the radiators are absolutely the same, the only difference is in the design! The number of phases is the same, the capacitors are the same, with the exception of one. The manufacturer promised wi-fi7! but it only works on win11 because we don’t have any drivers for wifi under win10. Installing a new BIOS version no caused problems, but XMP1 kept crashing! It just makes a mistake, crashes and rolls back to a simple configuration. I haven’t plugged in the video card yet. In general, the motherboard greatly disappointed me. I still don’t understand why I had to pay over $100 on top and get a worse product!!!

You cannot install windows 11 with this motherboard and the internet searches are not helpful either. The Windows installer complains about a missing media driver. I downloaded ALL the Win11X64 drivers from their site, tried installing ALL of them during an install session. Nothing works. I want hours of my life back. Don’t waste your time or money.

I had no issues upgrading to this mobo with a 14th gen CPU. I don’t usually leave reviews, but don’t feel the 1 and 2 star reviews currently on this motherboard are justified.

The motherboard arrived with the rear I/O shield bent at the top. There are no signs of this being bent by a customer and returned to Amazon. It was either dropped and bent by a worker at MSI or the box was thrown 100mph against a wall by one of the shipping companies. It is impossible to remove the rear I/O shield without removing the VRM heatsink in order to straighten the bend. Also, one of the M.2 quick hold-downs was missing. Lastly, only one of the three ARGB headers is working properly. I’m quickly remembering why I haven’t bought MSI in a very long time.

This motherboard (as well as the MPG Z790 TomahawkI MAX WIFI board) failed windows install due to lack of internet connectivity. (I originally had the Tomahawk and enchanted it for this board.)

Upon return of the original board to the retailer from whom I purchased it, I was told by the sales staff that the mobo is so new, that windows 11 install media cannot recognize and install either the wifi or ethernet adapters during setup.

    The Solution:
I purchased a $15 USB wifi dongle and stuck it in the USB slot. The windows 11 install process recognized that and used it for the internet connection. Once Windows was installed and the mobo drivers loaded, both ethernet and WIFI on the mobo worked fine.

I wish the sales person would have informed me of that when I bought the Tomahawk. I could have avoided the return.

    I hope this helps others.
