Why did I not know about this product earlier? My husband and I drink coffee every morning. Until recently we used the disposable pods. We purchased a “pour over” type coffee maker. We thoroughly enjoy this coffee, but heating the water on the stove was a pretty cumbersome part of the routine. This purchase made things much simpler and better! We don’t make purchases like this very often. We would purchase this over and over again. The water is heated within a couple of minutes. There are no parts to get “cruddy” like our load coffee maker. It cuts off automatically once the water is heated to right temperature. It’s easy to tell when it is finished because the pretty blue light shuts off! I can’t find a think I would change!

So far the pot works great! It’s been used at least once a day since we got it just over a month ago. I love the pretty blue color. It’s slightly bigger than most others (1.8L). I like that the spout is plastic instead of glass, so it won’t break if I accidently hit it on something. It takes about six minutes to boil room temperature water, much faster than the stove or microwave. The water is super hot which is perfect for soup & tea. I also use it to jump start cooking the water for the hummingbird feeders (no, I definitely don’t put sugar inside, I pour this hot water into a kettle with sugar and bring it quickly to a boil in a couple minutes – again much faster than the stove).

It gets 4.5 stars (rounded down to 4 stars) because the shape of the handle is thick and hard to grasp. I have to use two hands (one underneath) to hold it & pour securely. My hands are not small – I wear ladies large or men’s medium size gloves.

Had this kettle for about three weeks now and I have to say it’s a lot quieter than our last glass fast boil kettle. It takes about 70 seconds to boil the minimum amount 0.5 ltr which is good enough for two average sized mugs and about 6 nearly 7 minutes to boil a full 1.8 ltr from cold tap water. Once boiling it takes about 10 seconds to switch itself off. Empty, it isn’t any heavier than a typical plastic kettle. I read that some find the “tip/pour angle” a bit steep and I can see that this would be an issue maybe for some but as we’re both reasonably able bodied at this point it isn’t a problem for us. It’s quite a good pourer as well except when you’re on the last few drops. The glass does get hot when in use but there is a strip of plastic in between the handle and the glass to help avoid getting burned so that’s a plus and there are fill level on both sides of the glass which is handy for lefties and righties.

The Amazon listing says it’s 110V but as we’re in the UK ours is 240V an up to 2200W not the lower rating stated in the listing.

Overall pretty good and worth considering

Who knew you could write so much about a kettle . . . . .

This is the best electric kettle I could have every purchased! I live in an area that loses power frequently in the winter, so we rely on a generator for electricity when that happens, but still can’t use the stove. The hot plate took forever to boil water, so I decided to give this a try and it is worth every last penny spent! I can plug it into the extension cord from the generator, and not only have hot water in less than 5 minutes, but it illuminates a blue light that is actually kind of calming when you’re standing in the dark, in the cold, with no power, dreaming of a hot cup of coffee.

I’ve yet to find a tea kettle that works as it should on my induction stove, so I gave up and bought this electric kettle. It works great. Comes to boiling really fast and shuts off. The on off switch is conveniently located on the top of the handle. It doesn’t have a keep warm setting, which is probably a good thing. The only thing that I’m not crazy about is that the lid flips up about 60 degrees max and does not come off. This makes filling it a tad awkward. When it’s time to descale the bottom of the pot, I think it will be a little more difficult than it needs to be. The next time I buy one, I’ll make sure the lid is removable or at least flips all the way up.

I have to cut back on my coffee habit, and so after two cups go to tea instead. Rather then microwave water in a Pyrex measuring cup, I got this kettle. It has a minimum fill of 0.5L, which is just a tad more than I need for a cuppa, but even so it is faster than the microwave (I raced them). I have the cord very short: plug it in, boil the water, unplug it until next time. It’s simple, fast, convenient. The button to pop the lid does not get hot; and you don’t need to press it anyway to pour the hot water out. The “filter” is a simple mesh, purpose unknown unless you routinely get rocks in your tap water. Overall I am pleased with this kettle and would recommend it. Not to mention it looks cool while working.

When I want to make a quick cup of instant coffee or cocoa this is the best way. While getting me and my husbands cups ready the water is almost ready. It gets SUPER hot and it great when cooking and needing hot water. This is better then the microwave.

So efficient. Boils a whole pot of water in less then five minutes. We use this when we make pasta cause the two gallons of water is boiling in about six minutes between the electric kettle and a pot on the stove with three inches of hot water. Makes a lot of thing better in my kitchen. Pour the boiling water over sponges, ramen etc. We use it to heat water for showering while camping. Glass is hot when water is boiling but my youngest did not get burned when he touched the glass while it was bubbling. Wonderful design.

This electric kettle is attractive and functions as described in the Amazon description. The handle is easy to grip and comfortable for me. The handle does get warm, but not uncomfortably so.

When I ordered this kettle, I thought the blue LED lights were just a gimmick, but they are actually useful in helping to see if the water is boiling, and since they turn off when the auto shutoff turns off the kettle, it indicates that the water had reached boiling if one had left the room while it was heating up since there is no whistling nor audible alarm to indicate that.

Using the stopwatch function on my phone, I timed it from turning it on to the auto shutoff with it filled to the max 1.8 L mark, and it took 6 minutes and 42 seconds. It came to a rolling boil at 6 minutes and 24 seconds. This is only a couple of minutes faster than using a pot on my gas stove with the burner set on high. I was hoping it would be significantly faster than using the stove, but it does have the advantage of the auto shutoff feature.

So far there have been no leaks nor other problems, but it is too soon for me to assess the longevity of this electric kettle.
