I bought the Ninja because a friend had one and loves it. I chose this one because of the double-barrel cooking, which makes the controls a little more complex but not much. Most of the time I’ll probably just use one side of it.

The basket section is easy to remove (don’t even need hotpads due to side handles), and the insides are relatively easy to clean (no worse than a frying pan with a lid). The bottom grills are somewhat flat so not at all difficult to clean.

The insides are pretty basic: a basket with a grill on the bottom for airflow, on top a good-quality coil heater (one on each side), and a heavy-duty metal fan. When I turn this on it’s not exceptionally loud, but it does somewhat resemble a jet engine in sound, which tells me there is a lot of airflow going on in there (which is the trick to air frying). The first thing I made was fried okra and it turned out fine.

There are two nice guides with the unit (although I would like to see more recipes for standard foods like corndogs etc). Overall this is a powerful and versatile system, and it’s easy to find a multitude of recipes on the Net. I’m pleased with the purchase. While I doubt I will use the double-cooker option very often, it’s there if I need it.

Be aware this doesn’t have a small footprint and will take as much counter space as a small microwave oven. But it’s everything advertised. I did find it humorous that the NINJA brand (Japanese language) is “Made in China”. No shame, no shame. ;D

Since buying this air fryer I’ve had to completely readjust my mind on how to decipher any cooking instructions for air fryers. This thing heats up FAST and it cooks things very well. I’ve had to cut back about 1 or two minutes for every 5 minutes of cooking instruction I’m given or else the food overcooks. It’s especially good for reheating things like fries, wings, making small pizzas or even cooking raw chicken and beef and veggies. The handles make it easy to toss whatever is inside, and once you get used to the controls everything becomes a breeze to set up.

My only minor criticism is for the people who like to cook larger things. The containers are kind of small, so you won’t find yourself reheating, for example, more than two slices of pizza if you’re used to doing more. You won’t be able to cook a whole or half chicken on this thing, or big steaks. It hasn’t been a dealbreaker in our family because we still use our oven or bbq pit for the bigger things, or the microwave where needed, but it’s something worth noting.

Cleaning is decently easy. It sometimes takes a little effort to remove the little grille piece from the bottom of each container, but we’ve reduced the need to do that so often by using those little paper covers for air frying. That, combined with the air fryer, leads to a good experience overall.

I recommend this air fryer to anyone interested.

Not sure how, but somehow all these years hearing about air frying. And once you get one, you may never cook differently ever again.

It’s the new but actually health, microwave. Every house should have one, and although most regular stove/ovens incorporate it, it’s not the same as something like this. We have both.

This Ninja is the perfect size for 4 people. Things cook so fast, so even, so perfect, and always consistent, re discover food again. And, aside from some simple foot prep to preference, you do not have to do anything. Parts are dishwasher safe and easy to self clean too. Zero negative. The flex/time/zone thing is so awesome totally changed abilities. You can do a roast or main protein with a bed of anything, mixture of anything, perfect every time. Just buy it!!!!!
