This is a great looking stove, the cook top is powerful and the simmer options get really low. I’ve had this duel fuel 36″ wide unit for a month and a half. We are a family of six. My lovely wife is a stay at home mom and cooks in a daily basis. On delivery one of the front burners came not working so I’ve called customer service on day two of ownership with this issue and still no service on that, but I’m sure it’s an easy fix when (I hope) they come to fix it.Once the oven gets up in temperature an internal fan turns on (note: not the convection fan). This fan is somewhat noisy which could become just white noise with the exception that the tone of the fan goes up and down erratically. It’s not just a constant fan tone and it annoys me.I have an accurate in-oven thermometer and this oven’s temperature varies WILDLY to say the least. I’ve tried many setting for multiple hours on different days. It swings up and down 150 degrees. For instance I’ll set the oven to 350 but the temp goes up to 500 then down to 400 in about 20 min then all the way down to around 325, then again back to around 500, and this continues on and on for hours. I’ve left this oven on for 4 hours to see if it would hopefully even out eventually, but this was not the case. This has led to mostly burnt food from the oven. :(Unfortunately, that defeated the extra money spent on the dual dual option. A plus in an electric oven is much more of an even heat. (Google ‘electric oven vs gas oven’ for more info it). I’ve called Thor Kitchen directly and had to leave a detailed message for customer service and a week later tried the direct message method on the main Thor Kitchen website and no one has contacted me back on both attempts. That’s disappointing…If Thor Kitchen is able to fix my unit or replace with a new working unit I will gladly update this review until then I’d suggest looking at another brand. After one year of ownership we e given up and we’re going to sell this for as much as we can prob $200 and replace it. The oven is HORRIBLE and customer service never fixed it. Stay away!
Amazon Customer –
I bought this oven in December and it has not worked correctly since I’ve gotten it. The thermostats for this unit are garbage and they do not have a solution. As an example, If you set the oven on 350 it will go to 500 then down to 250 then back up to 475. It does not regulate the temperature correctly. They have installed 4 different thermostats and even replaced the entire unit with a new one. The new one has the same problem. They said they are going to try 1 more time then if that doesn’t work they will give me my money back. If the thermostat worked correctly it would be a great unit for the price….but I guess you get what you pay for.

Below, is a note I’ve emailed to the Thor Executive Management Team. I purchased the range on Amazon and it arrived well packaged and fully intact. I purchased and installed a gas conversion kit for LPG. We’ve been using the range for approximately 4 months before the igniter for one of the burners stopped working. Contacting Thor Support is a nightmare. First, while based in California, their hours of operation are from 7:30am-3:00pm PST. Typically, California companies extend into the later afternoon for their non-PST customers, NOT THOR. Before I realized they had bankers hours, I made several calls to the support number and ended up in Manila speaking to a woman who could simply take messages. Each call included a promise someone would call back the following day and not one call did I receive. I had to step out from work to call at 07:45 PST to find the phones still not on. Finally, I called one last time, but this time I called sales who actually answered and forwarded me to a human. I was asked to wait for an email and submit order information, model and serial number. I asked why the lady in the Philippines couldn’t have sent me the form and I got dead air. Today, I’m still waiting to hear from the tech they’re supposedly sending out to repair. This has been an eye opening experience that I will not set myself up for again.Note to Thor Execs. All,I have a 4 month old 36 inch dual fuel range that is not fully functional. I’ve called three times and have been transferred to the Philippines. I’ve spoken to your call center staff on multiple occasions and each time promised I would receive a call the following day and not once have I received a call. Are you people still in business? I definitely get better service with my Samsung appliances. I’m prepared to begin a campaign of poor reviews reflecting this experience. Perhaps you can save us all the trouble and have someone actually call me.
