Being forced into live online streaming performances due to the pandemic all I had was a budget. Being new to this market I had absolutely no idea or experience as to what I really needed for a portable streaming laptop. I’ve been a Mac guy since 1995 but decided on a Windows box for streaming.
Believe me when I tell you that it does the job well and well with ease. I run OBS (with many plugins and complex layers streaming at 1080p), 3 Caneras (7 switchable angles), Zoom and browser running all my extra services all on this 1 laptop.
Their are things I don’t like such is the font on the keys, and other trivial things that’s just a matter of opinion. I’m not a gamer so the fan noise has never been an issue as it’s hardly ever accelerates.
IF YOU THING IS STREAMING, BUY BUY BUY, YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED

This is probably the best gaming laptop I’ve ever owned for the price! The power of this lap top is unreal and can handle everything I’ve thrown at it over the last couple of months that I’ve owned it. I have the 16gb Ram, 512gb internal and 1tb ssd and threw another 1tb micro sd card into it. Plenty of space! The Nvidia 2060 is INSANE for gaming! The graphics are awesome and the control over the graphic settings is great! The only ”complaint” I have is the sound of the fans when playing serious AAA games. They are super LOUD! I bought a cooling pad and am hoping that works but the fan sound is actually pretty out of control. You can easily set the fan speeds and lower them, which is awesome, but, again, the sound is pretty unreal. That said, I have literally no other issues with this lap top. The RTB keyboard is FREAKING AWESOME, the multi tasking speeds are great and the lap top is solid! For the price, I am blown away!

Where to start? First off this laptop without a doubt is a great recommendation for anyone looking for a gaming laptop on the higher end under $1,500. One of the main features that I like is it’s versatility, it has a lot of options for setting your usage and battery i.e. internet browsing, music, gaming etc. It runs buttery smooth with its 16gbs of RAM and i7 10th gen processor ( I could only imagine the 32gb version) also included with the Nvidia Geforce 2060.
The build quality is just simply beautiful and the overall weight and size isn’t cumbersome at all in my honest opinion for a gaming laptop. The keyboard is very responsive and has multiple effects for lighting. The 17.3″ display is only 1080p @144hz but man it has a feature called msi true color and way the colors show is beyond stunning. Some smaller features include physical buttons for changing the light colors on the keyboard and a button for the internal fans. Even the sound quality for the internal speakers (at least for laptop speakers) and the audio jack for headphones are of great quality.
So far I’ve played a few games on it and it tends to run things very smoothly with high frame rates on the ultra to high setting.
*Full disclosure* I haven’t benchmarked this bad boy just yet on any current pc releases I plan to make an update as soon as I do!

I was looking for a fast computer with a cooling system that could keep up with the speed. I waited awhile before writing a review to test it’s performance. So far it has exceeded expectations. I had never purchased this brand and had not known anyone that had purchased it so I was wary. However, I have been very happy. It’s aesthetics are unique and a welcome change. The backlit keyboard took some time to get used to but it is great. Consumer Reports gave this model high ratings. This also assisted me in choosing this model.

This laptop hardware is good and the specs however the battery itself isn’t good, even on charge the battery percent drops and doesn’t want to stay on 100% and when it is full charge the battery drains. The laptop is still new and runs good just the battery isn’t good one it.

I’m loving this laptop. Great specs for the price and the design is sleek and just the right amount of funky. I was afraid the color under the keyboard would be a lot but it’s actually not as bright as you’d think looking at the photos.

I actually bought this gaming laptop because I edit a lot of HD and 4K video for my church. I needed a faster laptop than my previous one which was about 6 years old. First, let me say this laptop is extremely fast. My previous laptop would stall a lot or slow down whenever running MOVAVI or Adobe Premier. I have not had that problem with this laptop. As a matter a fact, edited videos that would take about 1-2 hours to finalize/export before now take 15-30 minutes to complete.
I decided to try out a few games as well, since this is a gaming laptop. I purchased a Fall Guys, Killer Instinct, and Flight Simulator 2020. Fall Guys has run with no issues and looks beautiful. Killer Instinct (a fighting game), plays smooth and the graphics are sharp as ever. I did not mess around with the settings on either of these games, though so I really don’t know if I’m running anything at the highest settings. Anybody who has play Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 knows that it is a memory and HD space hog. Fortunately this computer has plenty of HD space (1TB HDD and 512 SSD). Flight Simulator, for the most part, runs smoothly. The game only crashed once while I was playing it.
I have watched movies on this CPU. The color depth is incredible and sound is amazing with these speakers.
I did have an issue with using the mouse from my previous laptop with this laptop. The laptop just shutdown several times until I unhooked it. So maybe that’s an issue that needs to be taken into account. I ended up having to buy a new mouse from MSI. The Clutch GM50 Gaming Mouse (which I highly recommend). But that’s a review for another day.
Pros:
Sound, graphics, speed, easy to set up, great price for a laptop with this level of performance, nice looking keyboard (adjustable colors) and fairly light touch.
Cons:
Legacy hardware might not work on it (don’t quote me on that), Big (so not really mobile), loud fans (when they do come on), and can run hot.
