I got this on prime day, and let me tell you I am so grateful I was able to get the deal on this one. The screen is absolutely beautiful and it is smooth. I use laptops for many things such as school and gaming. Now for the price, the graphics card, the ram, and the processor is absolutely a steal. Even for the normal price its definitely worth your money. Acer really hit it off with this one. My previous laptops were never anything special and I would often notice issues with either speed or just usability, but I didn’t experience any of that with this laptop. If you travel a lot or need general use, its amazing, its super light and can take pretty much anything you throw at it.

What can I say this laptop does it all and does it very well. Small compact size paired with a robust and powerful CPU, Memory and Graphics. Screen can be a little hard to see in some lighting situations. The built in fan likes to speed up and slow down often and is on the noisy side but this is an amazing piece of hardware for anyone in the market.

I gave this laptop to my wife, replacing an older Dell. I was pleasantly surprised with the construction quality, speed and graphics card of this unit. The case is all metal, the CPU is very fast and the GTX 3050 GPU works very nicely, easily running a two-monitor setup. The only demerit is that it comes stock with Win11 Home, I believe it has the oomph to run Win11 Pro with no problems, but for the use that my wife gives it is just fine. Nice laptop!

This is my 3rd Acer Swift purchase, this time trying out the Swift X, instead of the Swift 3. It’s a great machine. Very fast, portable, comfortable to type on, fantastic screen quality. Don’t get me wrong, there are better laptops out there. However, there are none better at this price point (at least that I could find after weeks of research). This laptop features a decent GPU, so I use it not only for work, but also for gaming. Can’t handle the most challenging games very well (it’s not a gaming laptop), but can easily handle the vast majority of them. The only complaint I have is the battery life isn’t great for a laptop in this class. It’s a lot less than my previous Swift 3, and definitely not impressive when compared to other similarly priced laptops. Overall, a fantastic laptop that I use daily for video conferencing, typing reports, emailing, and gaming in the evening once the kids are in bed.

The Acer Swift X is lightweight with well more than satisfactory graphical power. Excellent for students who want to do school assignments and games on the side. You really won’t find a better price for what you get in a laptop. Only advise i’d give is to maybe wait for the new Swift X laptops to roll out since they have a better display and more graphical power. But in all honesty, even with the new laptops out this acer swift x is a very very good laptop to buy.

    Pros:
    – Very strong graphics card, can run most if not all AAA titles with medium-high settings at 60fps
    – CPU is fantastic and feels very Swift (haha)
    – Keyboard is nice to type on
    – Screen will get bright
    – Battery life will last the entire day if you are doing basic browsing
    – Amazing price for what you get
    – Finger ID for windows hello
    – Ok webcam nothing special 720p
    – Wifi 6 card makes browsing the internet fast
    – Expandable nvme ssd storage
    – The thin bezels are nice
    – Very sleek feels like a sleeper with all this power, others won’t know since it looks like a cheap laptop but it runs like a gaming computer

    Cons
    – White keys with keyboard backlight is a terrible mix, can’t see what letters are on the keys with the light on in a well-lit place
    – Keyboard backlight has two brightness settings. 0% and 100% NOT DIMMABLE!!! and it is very bright in
    a dark room
    – The metal coating on the surface of the laptop feels cheap and feels very easy to scratch
    – Fan noise is quite loud even on idle (managed to make it silent by limiting the cpu power while on
    battery power)
    – Trackpad could be better, you have to press decently hard to click
    – Because the ram is soldered you can not upgrade the ram in any way which sucks

    Acer Swift X SFX14-42G-R607 Creator Laptop |

14″ Full HD 100% sRGB: The biggest downside if you are a gamer. The 60hz display. While it looks beautiful, brightens really well, and looks stunning…. games will be sluggish. I guess if you are a content creator or using the laptop for productivity, the screen would be great.

AMD Ryzen 7 5825U – Not a bad processor at all. Again, pretty powerful if you are just creating content or using for standard productivity.

NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU: impressive graphic card for a 14-in laptop that is not considered a gaming laptop. For a hardcore gamer, this graphics card would not be enough. For a mid-range gamer (overwatch, for example), it would suffice. But again, the drawback here is the 60 hz screen.

16GB LPDDR4X: The ram is soldered on, so you won’t be able to improve on this. 16 GB, although becoming outdated, is not too bad.

512GB SSD:Plenty of space being that most of what we do is on the cloud, and especially cuz you won’t be playing any AAA titles that need a large amount of space.

Wi-Fi 6: well not bad, you could always upgrade it to the Wi-Fi 6e card by opening it up.

Overall, it really depends what you’re going to get this laptop for.

If you are getting it to edit videos, create content, word processing, use for school, use for medium to light work, used for middle of the road gaming… the portability is fantastic. Super light, super thin, and nice gray finish.

If you are getting this laptop to be able to play AAA titles on the go, it won’t happen. You’re better off with a Razer Blade 14 or a Rog. Substantial price difference.

I personally have a desktop gaming PC and I thought it would be a Good laptop to play overwatch and some lighter games while traveling, but the 60 hz screen ruined it for me.

5825U 3050TI MODEL WITH 512GB. THIS SWIFT IS A SOLID MACHINE, VERY FAST AND RUNS QUITE COLD FOR THE SIZE, PLAYED ABOUT AN HOUR OF DAYZ AND AN HOUR OF WARZONE CPU NEVER WENT ABOVE 67C GPU WAS STAYING AROUND 62C EVEN AT 100% USAGE. SO FAR BATTERY LIFE FOR COMPUTING NOT GAMING IS AROUND 7 TO 8 HOURS AND THIS THING CHARGES SUPER SUPER FAST. NVIDIA ALLOWS TO TURN OFF SOME PERFORMANCE FOR BATTERY ONLY GAMING AND DROP FRAMES TO 30 WITCH IS KINDA NEAT, STILL WOULDNT EXPECT MUCH OVER 2 HOURS THO ON A LIGHTER TITLE LIKE DAYZ. I HAVE ALREADY ORDERED A SECOND M.2 IN 2TB BECAUSE THIS THING HAS 2, YES 2 M.2 SLOTS WHICH IS A BEAUTIFUL THING AT THIS PRICE POINT. RAM IS NOT EXPANDABLE AND IS SOLDERD IN, BUT WITH A 1080P PANEL AND 60HZ 16 GB RAM IS PLENTY. BACKLIGHT ISNT ANYTHING TO RUN HOME ABOUT I HONESTLY TURN IT OFF CUZ IT SEEMS TO ACTUALLY MAKE THE KEYS HARDER TO SEE IF THAT MAKES SENSE. SOUND QUALITY IS DECENT, OVERALL THO THIS LAPTOP IS A BIG WIN AT THE PRICE POINT, ITS A GREAT MULTI PURPOSE GAMING/COMPUTING LAPTOP. THIS IS A SHORT TERM REVIEW AND IF ANYTHING CHANGES WITHIN A YEAR I WILL UPDATE.

I got this on special, and for the price I paid, wow. The hardware as of writing is a very capable low- to mid-range gaming PC, in a laptop form factor. I got this for the artist in the family to be able to render high-res scenes without crashing their computer. For most general art purposes, this is a beast.

The laptop itself is okay. The barrel power plug is a bit silly when it’s sitting right next to a USB-C port. Get with the times, Acer. But it all works. Keyboard and track pad are fine. Preinstalled bloatware wasn’t too bad. Everything was uninstalled inside of an hour.

The only real negative is that it does get hot. With this power and size there’s no way around that. I do strongly recommend a “laptop cooler” of some sort, even just a vented plastic wedge to keep it off your legs. Or if you use a docking station to help control all your monitors and an external keyboard, you won’t have to worry.

Lovely laptop. Great performance. Can be gotten at truly decent prices. Very happy so far.

I am constantly having to use the battery disconnect button on the computer. I have contacted Acer 3 times and they keep telling me to do different types of resets, or factory resets on the computer. I either lose USB C Charging Function, WIFI, or Bluetooth. When that happens, I have to use the battery disconnect button on the back to completely take power away from the CPU for 30 seconds. Then after rebooting the computer works correctly for maybe a week or so. Then it does it again. They don’t want to replace it even though I have had issues since day one. After doing a factory reset, which more than likely will not work, I will have to send it in for repair and be without my $800 laptop for weeks while they try to decide what to do with it. I would not buy Acer again.
