Chromebooks are really good if the end of life is 4 or more years from purchase This Acer has a 4 year end of life and all security you need with Chrome operating system This model did not have touch screen but the other features are good

Just rec’d this computer and have used it now for 2 days. So far, I like the taller screen as it gives you much more usable space for webpages and such. On a regular screen size those annoying banners take up a good part of the page, so this computer allows for better viewing. The battery life is far superior to a Samsung Chromebook of which this computer replaced. I also notice right off that this Acer has much more volume than the Samsung. I like the matte black too as I hate shiny/glossy computers as it shows every little handprint. Overall for the price this is a dandy computer. Oh yeah…also it’s faster than the Samsung and has the same advertised memory. I may buy another and just keep it in the box for a backup.

The technical name is deadlock. This is a unix based system which is supposed to be immune from these types of problems. However this particular machine loves to go into deadlock. It’s difficult to get out of because there is no task manager like Windows. You have to turn it off by holding the on/off button. The last time this happened, when trying to get back into Google (necessary since Google is embedded in this device and there is no run-around). Google asked me for my present password and MY OLD PASSWORD!!!!!
I didn’t remenmber what my OLD PASSWORD was, so I ended up losing all my favorites (bookmarks) and as an added bonus, Google’s system even deleted my dashlane Chrome extension which I had to reinstall.
Do yourself a favor and buy something else.

Bought for my three year old because I wanted to get her used to using a computer with a keyboard and mouse versus a touchscreen tablet. Also let’s me continue a nice tradition, my parents got me a computer when I was five or so—back when they cost way more money to buy!
Does what it needs to at an excellent price for a new chromebook. No frills, but I wanted that. Plenty of parental controls. Also great for an adult doing basic computing tasks like surfing the web or using android based apps or games. Camera isn’t great but there is one, which at this price is sort of a nice bonus. Plenty of chromebooks out there, and this is a great value. Light weight casing makes for a light device also!

I have used Chromebooks for business for the last 10 years or so and this one does not disappoint. As described it starts up fast and quickly jumps online. I have used this brand before with no problems. In fact, I have had 2 other Chromebooks and used until they were no longer supported by Google. I like having everything available online. It immediately accessed my files and links with log-in and password information intact. My previous Chromebook had a larger screen, but oddly, I prefer the smaller one for better portability. I am well pleased and plan on using this until expires in another 5 years or so! I certainly do not miss the slow boot-ups and file updates of a PC.

Purchased it for a gift for someone who needs it for basic computing – surf the net, apps from the google play-store, and mainly using chrome browser as their main interface. It boots up fast, shut down fast, and relatively decent performance. The speaker is nothing to shout about but it gets the job done. For less than SGD$200, I think it’s a fair deal. It is not touch-screen as indicated by other reviewers too. Best to pair with a mouse (make sure it is chromebook compatible). Overall, recommended product. Note: This is a little larger than the usual 11+ inch chromebook, the additional real-estate space make it a better experience, in my opinion.

I found it on sale for $79 but the regular $119 is still inexpensive and a great price value for the value. It is now my primary chromebook even though I own far more expensive chromebooks with better stats. This is a great choice for a student or a non-technical person looking for easy access to email, web surfing and streaming. The only missing features are a back lit keyboard and it doesn’t have a touch screen (which I don’t like and usually disable). It has good, but not great, audio; most chromebooks I’ve seen have poor audio.

I have a desk top and a larger Chromebook. This smaller one goes with me everywhere. It is so lightweight that I can put it in a tote bag and have it on hand when I need it. It’s easy to use and when watching videos, the picture is fantastic. (My cat loves watching bird videos on it, too.) I bought this on a whim because of the low price, but would buy it again because it is such a good product.

I don’t know what the battery life is because I’ve never fully depleted it as part of a test, but it might be 5-6 hours with the screen on full brightness and watching videos. It is by far the longest lasting battery of any tech I own that has a screen. It is not touch screen, but I knew that when I bought it. I have had it about 6-7 months now, and it was a great buy for the price. I will warn you that it does not have a powerful processor or much RAM. This is not an entertainment laptop. I bought it so that I could write without needing to be near a power outlet or Wi-Fi, and it works great for that purpose. It is small so it is very light, but the keyboard is still large enough so that a normal sized hand can fairly easily type on it. The screen resolution is not great, but I wasn’t expecting it to be.
If purchased because you need something that has a long battery life, is easy to transport, has durability, and will only use for pretty basic tasks, then this is a great purchase. If you expect to use it to stream videos while you explore 15 different websites, listen to music, and try to play some online game, then I think you should accept that you need to invest much more money on a machine designed to do that.
