Amazon Basics 8-Pack 9 Volt Alkaline Performance All-Purpose Batteries, 5-Year Shelf Life, Packaging May Vary

Very handy size of package. Easy to replace batteries in electronics on a yearly schedule. They last quite a while – worthwhile purchasing.

When there are many devices that use these 9 volt batteries, as in all the many testers that we use at our school, these Amazon batteries make the best practical sense.

Having very expensive 9 volt batteries in devices that are infrequently used isn’t practical for us.

Or, if there are many devices that use a 9 volt battery, (especially used indoors), then very expensive batteries also do not make sense for us.
(Using expensive batteries (eg: Lithium) for use outside in the weather temperatures is necessary, but less expensive batteries should not, in our view, ever be used for outside temperature extremes).

But these Amazon 9 volt batteries are an excellent choice to have on hand, because going out to get a 9 volt battery costs lots of time.

Let me explain why everyone must buy these batteries.

It was a cold December day. We had Christmas break, so I was visiting my brother’s house in Charlotte. Sun was out for may be few hours in a day and weather was in mid 30s throughout most of the days. Heater was on but IT was still kind of cold. Basement was even colder.

During one of those night, strange beeping sound woke me up around 2am. No matter how hard I try, I could not go back to sleep. I tried to locate the sound, and it sounded like it was coming from the basement. There was no way I was going to that basement alone at 3am since I did not want to deal with ghost. So I waited in my bed until around 8am next morning.

Then I heard my brother and sister-in-law talking in the kitchen. So I went to kitchen and told them the entire story. My brave brother went to basement all by himself and found out that beeping sound was coming from one of the basement fire alarm. He did extensive investigation and concluded that existing 9V battery in fire alarm was dead. He took the battery out and that noise finally stopped. I was so thrilled that I will get some sleep now. But boi I was wrong.

So the day went by. We have a projector in the basement, so we all decided to watch a movie that night. As soon as movie finished, we all started walking upstairs. I saw that battery and fire alarm on the table. MY BROTHER DID NOT REPLACE THE BATTERY, HE JUST TOOK IT OUT!! I discussed possible fire situation during the night with my brother, but he ignored me and went upstairs. I went to my room.

This was another cold and quite night except I could hear my brother snoring. That beeping noise was gone.. But I could not stop thinking that we have a fire alarm that is not connected. I could not get that thought out of my mind. I researched online about not having active fire alarm and found some terrible stories. Now I could not sleep second night in the row. My mind was really going crazy and didn’t know what to do at the moment.

Around 3am this night, I gathered my courage, took spatula for my safety and went to basement to get that fire alarm. It was still sitting on the table staring at me. I quickly picked it up and ran upstairs to my room. I found the model number behind the fire alarm and started doing my own investigation. I downloaded product manual form manufacture’s website. I went through that 2 page manual and concluded that I need new 9V battery to get this fire alarm start working without beeping sound.

There was no place to go at 3am to get 9V battery. So I went on Amazon and did my search for ‘9V battery’. This was the first product that came in my search result. THERE WAS AN OPTION FOR SAME DAY DELIVERY FOR THIS BATTERY!! Without any thoughts, I placed an order for same day delivery. I still could not sleep that night. Only thing I can now think of is when would this new batteries arrive.. I waited and waited. Hours went by.

Around 4:30pm I heard the door bell. I was sleep deprived for 2 nights, but somehow I felt energetic. Delivery guy had left the Amazon package. Now I could not wait to install new battery in our fire alarm. I opened the box, and it was very easy to open the package inside to access these batteries. Only took me less than 2 minutes to install the battery and re-install fire alarm. Now I knew that our house was safe and in case of fire, I was safe as well. That night, I went to my room early around 8pm after dinner. That night I slept like I never slept before. I can’t even imagine life without these battery and active fire alarms. This literally saved me from sleep deprivation and saved my life!! I recommend these batteries to anyone who is looking for solid 9V batteries.

I cannot find a better value than this pack! I needed to replace the batteries in my smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. This saved me a bundle.
