This electrical outlet is amazing. It was very easy to link up with my Alexa. One of the cool features was telling the alexa what outlet to turn on and off and it working with ease. This will help turn your house into a smart home and it is highly recommended.

I bought this specifically thinking that the USB would also be controlled by Alexa. I believe I read that it was supposed to maybe I don’t know how to make it however that’s why I’m giving it two stars because no explanation. However, the three prong outlet work pretty good. USB and USB-C not being able to be controlled. Alexa is my only problem.

When I ordered this power strip I wasn’t sure what to expect. I have an Alexa Echo device which I rarely use. However, I thought, at worst, I would get power strip to plug in devices and to recharge my phones.
It turns out that I pleasantly got more than what I expected. I prefer to have power strips to have more plugs but I knew I was getting only 3 plugs upfront so that was no surprise. What was a surprise is how durable & elegant the power strip feels. Most of my power strips are cheap and no-frills. The Amazon power strip is durable, looks good, and provides cord length than my other power strips.
Also, you can manually activate/deactivate each individual plug with a press of the button. There is also a button to group deactivate all the plugs at once. The status lights are pleasantly green.
The Alexa installation and setup process was easy. I already had the Alexa app on my phone & scanned the QR code underneath the power strip. I thought I was going to have a problem but it progressed from one step to the next in the app. Next thing you know, I am connected and can remotely control each plug.
Somehow, the setup process makes the power strip Wi-Fi accessible. I’ve been successful in activating/deactivating the plugs when I am connected to the same WiFi but supposedly I can control it remotely offsite. I have to figure this out.

I ordered this power strip for my home computer setup. My desktop has a solid state internal hard drive for fast computer speeds and program access, and three external hard drives for storing pictures and videos that take up a huge amount of memory. My IT consultant has told me that if I am only using my external drives for long term storage, but not using them regularly on a daily basis, that I should only run them when I am using them. He said that I will wear out the external drives prematurely having them on all the time when not being used. With this strip I can turn off the external drives individually, and only turn on the one that I need, and only when I need it. I also have a wireless mouse with a rechargeable battery. I can use the USB port in this strip to charge my mouse.
