The product description does a great job showing how you can very brightly light up your desktop workspace when using your laptop and this light. My use case is that I like to use the laptop on my lap on the couch, in an airplane or in bed while my wife is falling asleep. My laptop does not have a lighted keyboard, so I purchased this to provide help finding the keys while browsing or typing. Unfortunately, the light is far too bright and the dimming range of the BENQ laptop light is very limited. As a result, it is obtrusive to others. I believe that the dimming range could be improved by the designers, as it cycles to a very dim value while gracefully turning off. I’ve added translucent tape to try to cover most of the light, but this is a kludge, at best, to dim the light. I’ve sent a note to the manufacturer to see if they can help. If they do, I’ll update this review. If not, then buyer beware.
BENQ: I’m sure it would be a simple matter of modifying the dimming settings in the controller. Please consider this.

Screen BarのUSB端子がグラグラになったので買い替え。MicroBだったので流石に違う商品を探したところ、この商品を見つけました。
とてもコンパクトでスタイリッシュ!明るさも問題なく27インチのPCモニターにつけて電源に常時接続しています。壁面もほどよく明るくなります。
マグネットは一度取り付けると位置を変えることはできないので慎重に。マグネットのみ別売もして欲しいです。

Could not mount because instructions are not clear. The magnet has a film that I thought was supposed to be removed, the tape rolled and it was impossible to fix. So, I could never stick battery to laptop so lamp was not possible to mount.I will try to buy magnets separately. It is a pity because lamp is superb and it will do the job nicely if only the battery could be mounted on laptop.

Not cheap but well designed, well made and faultless so far – it does exactly what you want it to do. That said, sticking the magnetic patch to the laptop is tricky, as the instructions are not clear.

The Benq LaptopBar monitor light is a high-quality, well-designed, and very functional product. It has improved my workspace while traveling. I no longer rely on poor hotel lamps to light my keyboard and work area. This laptop light bar adds enough light and can be adjusted to meet any need. It is my new favorite addition to my laptop bag.
