Works well for home office, nice and bright, and good color filters for lowering amount of blue light.
Very good small stand which can be adjusted in height, tilt and orientation (landscape, portrait).
And it has DisplayPort and HDMI input.

These monitors are great for work, office, study and general use. Not for gaming or graphic design. WHY? Because they distort/break up certain colors. They insert a grid into some solid colors that looks like a white thin square mesh. They don’t do it with all the colors. Just some. Adjusting the settings every which way doesn’t work to fix this issue. Previous monitor (also a Dell smaller size) did not have this issue at all so it’s not the laptop’s issue. I am not bothered too much by this as I use these for spreadsheets, documents, email, etc. Not graphics or gaming. I DO like the built-in speakers! I do enjoy the sleek, thin bevel, anti-glare screen. These have several color/audio/brightness/screen settings including customizable color settings. I thought that these had an adjustable stand but they DO NOT. They only have a tilt feature. You’ll have to put the monitor on top of books like I did :). Oh, and the setup for these could not be more simple. The stands are super easy to apply to the monitor and hookup is so basic, you can do it with your eyes closed. I am not unhappy with these but if I had paid full price, I definitely would return them. I got them discounted from a 3rd party seller on Amazon. Packaging was different for each monitor and slightly damaged but the monitors came in without any damage, well packaged, no issues there. I am keeping these as they are great for an improvement of screen-work space. Working with huge files and spreadsheets is cumbersome enough, it’s even worse with a small screen monitor.

The system that I had built in 2011 is still going strong. However, the Dell 23.5″ LCD monitor that I bought at the same time to go with it recently gave up the ghost. So I bought this monitor. It is spectacular ! I purposely got a 27″ in the same resolution as the 23.5″ (1920×1080) in the hopes that things would be bigger for my old eyes, and it worked – things are noticeably larger and easier to read and see. It’s kind of like having new glasses.
The other thing that I wanted to accomplish was to get the huge, ugly speakers off my tiny desk, which is why I picked a monitor with built-in speakers. And here is where I hit trouble – they don’t work. According to Dell Tech Support, this is not the fault of the monitor, but rather it is due to the fact that I am still running Windows 7 (cold, dead hands, et al) and OG Win 7 does not have built in support for HDMI sound. They say I need an updated Win 7 HDMI driver. I have not yet solved this problem, but have every confidence that I will. In the meantime I am continuing to use my old speakers and enjoying the gorgeous display on this monitor.

Using this as a main screen, with a MacBook Pro connected via HDMI cable. (The monitor comes with this cable.)
It’s instant setup. There are no instructions for getting your Mac laptop screen to display on this.
You’ll need to:
1) Go to Apple icon > System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement
2) Then tick the tiny box marked “Mirroring”
As a boomer, I love the fact fonts look larger on this monitor. I’d been working for years on a 15-inch MacBook Pro – + there’s a big difference.
There’s also plenty of room to open 1-3 documents + have them display (by resizing) side-by-side.
High def videos look amazing too.

I’ve purchased several Dell S2721H monitors for my company, and they’ve been a fantastic investment. These monitors are not only affordable but also durable and reliable, perfectly suited for our daily office needs. The elegant thin bezel design with Full HD resolution provides excellent screen clarity, making them ideal for both work and leisure gaming. The dual HDMI ports offer effortless connectivity, which is a big plus. Overall, these monitors have become my go-to choice due to their consistent performance and longevity. We’ve never had an issue with them.

Packaging was extensively damaged on arrival, inside the box several parts were in the wrong place or had come loose. Judging by sticky tape positions etc I strongly suspect it had been returned and sent back out. Power lead wouldn’t stay in monitor socket, coudn’t tell if fault was lead or monitor. After 4 days of this spent £7 on new lead which solved problem. Should have returned it but weight/size is very unweildy and no guarantee of refund. However, works well and pleased with picture etc. but expect more from Dell. Would not buy again.

Bought this 2nd unit only two weeks after getting the 1st unit. Conducted month-long research prior to deciding since there are so many options out there. Too many units with massive screen size when all I need is 23.8 for work/leisure. Unsure why anyone would need a huge screen as it makes me vomit, like sitting in the 1st row of a movie theater watching high-motion action. This unit feels solidly built, but the final deciding factor was the adjustabe height/rotation which offers excellent flexibility. My other surprise was the easy assembly – less than 2 minutes.

2/7/2024: For several years I was using a 25″ HP monitor. The HP monitor had a lot of glare. I was thinking of replacing it when we had several power outages within about a 4 day period.
After the last power outage was over, the monitor wouldn’t turn on. I don’t know if the power outages had anything to do with the monitor no longer working. The outages might have caused surges, but I was running the monitor through a UPS (battery backup) which had built-in surge protection.
Anyway, the monitor no longer worked. Fortunately, I had an older HP backup monitor that I was able to use while I ordered this Dell monitor being reviewed here.
When I got the Dell monitor, my first impression was that it looks a little cheap, like it’s made of cheap plastic with a cheap design. However, the monitor works OK and I no longer have a glare problem. The no-glare aspect of this monitor really seems to work.
My NVIDIA video card has two DVI output ports and the Dell monitor has 2 HDMI input ports. I solved this by buying a CableCreation HDMI to DVI Short Cable. This worked fine.
The picture quality is OK on this Dell monitor and it’s probably as good as the picture quality was on the HP monitor that I was using previously. The picture might seem a little strange if you are used to a monitor with glare. That was true in my case, but the picture quality is really plenty good on this Dell monitor, as far as I can tell. Overall, I’m happy with it so far.

It’s the perfect size for my work desk at home. Was easy to fix up. Good quality and resolution. No lag in between my laptop and the monitor. Comes with an hdmi cable. (Not a gamer, so not sure how good they are for video gaming).
