I have several of these trackballs. This one is a new HW rev. I notice two differences:
    1) There is a timeout and a sleep mode on this rev. I hope this improves battery life (the older rev is a battery eater)
    2) The case molding is a little different. It feels the same except that ion this version, the scroll wheel catches frequently, very annoying (thus 4 stars). I believe the cause is in the spacers between the buttons. I took some 200 grit paper and rounded all the edges and so far the scroll wheel is smooth.
    3) the button click is still crisp but a little softer.

I am trying NiCads in this version, so far so good. The old version doesn’t work well with NiCads.

I bought this for work to replace a more expensive Logitech mouse that I thought would be the answers to my mousing dreams. I was wrong. The other electronics in the office interferred with the Logitech mouse receiver causing it to stop and drag. This Kensington mouse is great. Works perfectly, fits my hand and glides smoothly across the surface of my desk. A pleasure to use. No more interferrence.

This was my first wireless mouse as i was hesitant to get one because i hate wireless things as the reliability is good usually. However this thins surprised me as it plugged right in and worked with no issues the whole time i had it. Then one day it just stopped working, Until then it was great. it was very comfortable and has back and forward buttons which i love and will not get a mouse without. It used two aaa batteries. It looked good but probably could look better. Ovaerall it was very good while it lasted so i figure 3 stars is good. I probably got a dud, and likely you will have a better experience. Fortunatley amazon took it back as it was still in the return window.

I really like this mouse, I have the larger one that I use for my desktop and this one is perfect for my laptop since I am always taking it with me everywhere I go.

I have used trackballs for awhile as I find them easier on my arthritic hands. This large ball and platform allows my hand to not have to bend much at all and is super easy to use. the butttons are large and reachable with little to no movement. The software allows you to program various buttons and button combos – I have my password saved to one button, saving tons of time when I can just click once instead of typing a 16 character password. The bluetooth occassionally gets a little slow if I have a lot of other devices near causing interference, but it resets easily. My laptop is usually about 10ft away from my keyboard/mouse area and 98% of the time it works flawlessly. Worth the minor occassional inconvenience for a very comfortable and efficient mouse.

It’s a very light mouse and I like my mice to have a bit of weight to them, cause otherwise they move around too easily. However, that’s very subjective. The person I bought it for, to the contrary, loves the fact that it’s so light, so like I said – personal opinion. The weight is the reason *I* would give it 4 stars, but since the recipient loves it, then it would be unfair to give it less than 5. Also, this was a replacement for a corded mouse than had started to die.

It terms of the buttons – I quite dislike using custom software/drivers that aren’t baked into the OS. So the fact that this mouse does NOT have any custom drivers was a PLUS for me. For others it may be a different situation and they want to customize all their buttons. As far as the person whom I got this for – the fewer the buttons the better. So they don’t care about the lack of software and I have fewer things to install and consequently keep updated. The back/forward buttons work without any drivers, so we’re laughing. It’s a win-win.

I have used the Kensington Expert Mouse for 25 years. I love the ergonomics and longevity. I have one that I use daily since 2005, and it still works great.

So, wireless? I was skeptical. No longer! This thing is seamless and smooth. I’ve only had it a month, but I look forward to years of reliability.

Received the mouse and thought I was getting the nano usb receiver like the description below and pictures shown but it came with a giant usb plug…

I ordered this 9/12 and 11/8 it just stopped picking up the signal and didn’t work. In the middle of a busy work day too. Now, I have to go buy another one, drive to the post office to send this back and pay to ship it back because my “window of time to return” expired on 10/15? Save yourself the trouble, don’t buy. I mailed this mouse back on 11/8/12 (at my own expense) and requested a credit from Amazon. It’s now 2/2/13. You would think I would at least get a response 3 months later. Update 4/16/14 – still no credit or response.

Love this trackball. I use the wired one at work but wanted something more clean looking at home. It works great and has pretty good battery life. Easy to bring with me on the go.
