This is a fantastic purchase. It was so easy to set up and connect to my LG TV. It adds impressive sound at a low cost point. I also use my TV as my screen to play online games with, and the sound is fantastic. It comes with an optical cable, no HDMI. I originally connected this with the optical cable, but was not happy with the way remotes were working. After doing some research, I found that it is better to connect using HDMI instead, as it provides better sound. Now with that connected, I don’t even need to use the remote for the soundbar. I simply adjusted the bass with it and don’t really need to use it again. I recommend this purchase.

The LG Sound Bar and Wireless Subwoofer S40Q is a great value. This audio system provides a fantastic sound experience that enhances your home entertainment setup in various ways.
First and foremost, the sound quality is impressive for this price point. The sound bar delivers clear and powerful audio, making movie nights and music listening genuinely immersive. It’s particularly great for action-packed movies, where you can feel the rumble and intensity of every explosion or dramatic musical score. The subwoofer adds a rich, deep bass that fills the room, giving a full-bodied audio experience.
The setup process is a breeze thanks to the wireless connection between the sound bar and subwoofer. There are no messy wires to worry about, and you can place the subwoofer wherever it sounds best in your room. We decided to put the sub in the back of the room. LG has made it easy for users to get up and running without technical hassles.
The design of the sound bar is sleek and modern, complementing most home decor styles. Its slim profile won’t dominate your entertainment center, and it’s easy to wall-mount. The remote control is intuitive and user-friendly, and you can also control the system through the LG mobile app, adding extra convenience to your setup.
Regarding connectivity, this sound bar offers a variety of options, including Bluetooth, HDMI ARC, optical, and USB inputs. It’s versatile enough to connect to your TV, gaming console, or music player with ease. Whether you’re streaming content or connecting physical devices, this sound bar has you covered.
Overall, the LG Sound Bar and Wireless Subwoofer S40Q is a fantastic addition to any home theater system. It brings top-notch sound quality, easy setup, and a stylish design to the table. With its wide range of connectivity options and the convenience of wireless connectivity with the subwoofer, it’s a 5-star choice for enhancing your audio experience at home. You will be satisfied with the immersive sound it delivers.

I’m using this LG sound bar with a LG OLED tv. I noticed that some of the reviews complaint about repeatedly losing connection. I think, maybe, the problem is not pairing bass with the sound bar. I had the same problem, then I read the instructions that explained how to pair speakers with the pairing button on the back bass. After doing this, all worked well.

I very seldom write a negative review, especially a one star review, and I hate returning things to Amazon. Unfortunately, this sound bar did not live up to expectations. I recently purchased an LG C2 OLED television and figured that this LG sound bar would be a good match. The television volume needed to be turned-up to 85% in order to get a comfortable volume level out of the sound bar. Also, the volume fluctuated from soft to very loud, so I had to constantly adjust it on the remote. After about a week, the sound just started to deteriorate to the point where I couldn’t understand it. Unfortunately, there is no way to adjust the treble and bass. The sound bar ended up being returned.

I used to have a Sonos, and it was great, no complaints. But they are expensive to replace so I chose to go with the same brand speaker as my tv, LG. The sub and sound combo have exceeded my expectations! The quality of the sound is deep and rich and when I watched the Super Bowl halftime show, I cranked it. I had no audio loss or crackling. The best part is that I can control it with my LG remote (I have a 65” LG smart tv I bought in 2024 and it has the type of remote you can point at the screen for a curser if that helps you). Anyways, I recommend. Value for money, it’s good and even comes with the bracket to install it and it’s light enough to install into drywall just fine

Researched for months and bought this. Does what it promises. The sound fills the room but feels a bit boomy (using Bluetooth connection). The Bluetooth connection drops every 30 mins. Not sure if it’s a soundbar issue or my streaming device. I’ll be using HDMI ARC so this won’t be an issue for me.
All in all, a decent upgrade over inbuilt TV speakers, for its price, but in no way audiophile grade. This one is suitable if you are a tenant with a small hall and want something small that’s transport-friendly.
If you’re after quality sound, go for a proper 5.1 home theater because no matter which soundbar you buy, you’ll always be missing out on a good movie experience if you don’t have rear surround speakers.
Also, always prefer wired inputs over wireless. Bluetooth does not have the bandwidth to carry high res sound.

Relatively easy to set up. the sound is phenomenally good. We have a very loud household with dogs, appliances, and kids. I can’t believe we went so long without it. Already had an LG TV so it was a no brainer. The remote is really necessary since the TV remotes supersede it in importance and they are basically redundant. The volume control is slow and all it shows on the screen is + or -, not levels. The levels on the sound bar appear as three lights which change color as the volume increases. Just not as intuitive as I would have hoped. Price and sound make up for this.
