Second review update september 2023:
The nvidia gpu failed after only two years of very light use. No games were ever played on this laptop.
It is a hardware issue. Artifacts and then black screen after reboot. Then only black screen.
The integrated gpu in the intel cpu still works, so it is possible to use only this,
but the nvidia gpu must be disabled in device manager.
On fresh install of windows 10 at the point where windows tries to install the nvidia driver,
the screen goes black.
So it is not a gaming laptop anymore. And it is not in warranty, which is effective for only one year.
And on windows update if it re-enables the nvidia gpu, you must go to safe mode ( not easy with black screen, you should go through few cycles of forced shutdown with the on off button until you get into safe mode with the working intel gpu ) and then manually disable the nvidia gpu.
Major hassle.
Really it should have lasted many years, but it hasn’t. Probably to fix it will cost more than the laptop.
First I gave it five stars. Then a little over one year ( around three months after the one year warranty expired ) I had a white spot developed on screen, and reduced the rating to three stars.
Now no gaming gpu and it is reduced to one star.
Not recommended.

Review update:
After eighteen months of little use the screen developed a small white spot,
very noticeable under white background.
MSI support says it is out of warranty.
I expected more from this laptop.
Three stars instead of five.

Original review:
Looks good, stylish and not heavy.
Not the latest tech, intel 10th gen and nvidia 20 series, but good enough if you get it on sale.
Keyboard and touch pad are excellent.
Screen is high quality and colorful, with accurate colors and adequate contrast for an ips panel.
You get 17.3″ with 240hz refresh rate, full srgb color space, and great viewing angles.
The white color has a very slight greenish tint to it, but to a very small degree, and borderline ok.
Speakers are so so. clear and loud but no bass or high frequencies. ok for speech but less for music.
Wifi is ok with good speed if you are in the same room as the router, but weak otherwise. It stays connected, but throughput is slow compared to other devices in the same spot connected to the same router.
Fans can be noisy, but you can choose a battery saver mode which will limit cpu speed and give you zero fan noise. This is enough for light work like browsing and youtube. You can easily switch back to normal mode and full speed.
Hinges look fragile. They did not break but you should be extra careful with opening and closing the lid.
Always connected to ac, so no opinion about battery.
There is space for an extra nvme ssd, if you want to add one.
Includes a mux switch to connect the nvidia gpu directly to the lcd, accessed through the msi control panel.
I hope this review is helpful for people considering this laptop.
Overall 5 stars.

I bought this specifically for running the new Flight Simulator 2020. It runs more smoothly than what I’ve seen on some desktop systems. I have all the graphics and scenery settings maxed out and I still see no noticeable change in performance. I haven’t tested the actual frame rate yet, but I see no evidence of any jittery graphics or lag whatsoever. It’s even extremely smoothly in places like NYC and Chicago. Hasn’t overheated yet. Well worth the price if you want to run any simulator and prefer a large screen.

While I am not using this laptop as my primary computer yet, I have spent some time playing games to test it out. So far I have had a pretty inconsistant issue while gaming where it will suddenly kick the fans to high and become unresponsively slow. The temps are normal but the fans are stuck on full blast and the msi tools, a big headache when setting up the laptop, will not control them. Only restarting gets the fans to stop. Still searching for answers because the computer looks and feels amazing, the display is crisp and fast, and while it works it WORKS.

I acquired this machine after having a Toshiba S55T-C5165 for almost 7 years. Unfortunately my Toshiba suffered a processor damage which could no longer be fixed.
This MSI is by far a better option than the other brands that exist in the market.
It is super fast, fluid in the processes that I carry out that are related to my profession such as electrical engineering, I have no problems running simulators, computer-aided drawing programs such as autocad, solidworks, among others.
In addition, all the complementary software programs such as the Dragon Center are an excellent alternative to have control of the cooling of the machine by accessing the revolutions of the fans.
The battery life is 7-8 hours with a heavy workload and with all the brightness and definition of the screen it is astonishing.
The only problem I found is that in the Dragon Center when the automatic fan selection is left set, the laptop turns off with some games, just at the moment the third fan is turned on, however this does not happen with simulators. that I use for my work.
To solve this problem with the games I have chosen to create a custom ventilation mode and with this I solved it.
Apart from that, in this month of use I have not had any additional problems.

Everything is great but the “A” key keeps popping off

Runs better than expected, gets a bit warm during heavy gaming but laptop cooling pad helps with that. Screen is beautiful, speakers are expected from a laptop. Overall very pleased.

Pros : Love the graphics, responsiveness, and look.
Cons: Will get hot quickly during intense gaming.(dual fan does work adequately), no touchscreen, and larger size
I am happy with my purchase. The fans will get noisy at times but the system runs flawlessly outside of that.

I have had over 20 laptops in my life. This is one of the worst. It runs so hot and so loud, ALL THE TIME. Even though the task manager says CPU usage is below 2% it runs hot and burns the battery in under an hour.
Good Laptop –
First, I want to mention that product later than scheduled. Had to go through multiple calls to UPS to resolve that.
Regarding the product:
PROS
Amazing gaming performance (all specs as advertised except for SSD memory)
Laptop looks/feels good
Nice looking RGB keyboard
Super FAST in performing general desktop tasks
CONS
SSD memory is LESS than advertised in description (actual memory is ~452 GB vs 512 GB ), idk if I should contact the seller on this.
Somewhat loud when under the load (I use cooling pads as well).
Overall, recommended for purchase if you are okay to sacrifice 70-80 GB of SSD memory

Amazing laptop. downloaded Civ 6 in 2 minutes. Super fast, but I spent all of my money buying it. However, its great for scrolling through Steam. 5/5 would recommend.
