Quality is nice, solid cam and the 180 view is cool. It’s a high def cam but when I zoom in a pic the video or pic becomes grainy (as suspected). I originally bought this for my gate entry but am using another set of cameras for now. So it’s on my roof looking over the trees and back. I’d buy another for the front of the house but I already have 4 other devices for that view. I just like cameras not that I’m crazy or freaked out about my pad. lol.

Testing the REOLINK Duo PoE 16MP Panoramic Security Camera has been nothing short of excellent, exceeding my expectations in every aspect. I have tested it from my apartment downtown, during day and night, using different settings and putting to test each feature. I downloaded the client software and used a large screen as an extension to my laptop display; I also tested the mobile app, both on Android and iOS. Let me share the results of my testing:

    ✅Video Quality & Panoramic View:
The camera’s dual 4K image sensors deliver a stunning 16MP UHD clarity. The 180° panoramic view, achieved through advanced stitching algorithms, ensures minimal distortion and fewer blind spots. During my testing, the video quality was outstanding, capturing every detail with precision. There is a setting that can adjust the stitching distance for perfect results (attached the screenshot)

    ✅ Advanced Night Surveillance:
Equipped with an F1.6 super aperture and infrared LED lights, the color night vision functionality impressed me, revealing details up to 100ft at night time. I’ve attached a video showcasing the camera’s exceptional night vision performance.

✅ Intelligent Motion Tracking and Smart Detection:
The Motion Track feature, coupled with smart detection capabilities, sets this camera apart. It not only distinguishes between persons, cars, and animals but also provides a convenient timeline of the target’s movement, streamlining the reviewing process. False alarms are significantly reduced IF you set up the system properly. This is an advanced system that requires learning all its smart settings before implementing a real-life, reliable surveillance system.

✅ Two-Way Audio and Weatherproof Design:
The two-way audio feature allows seamless communication through the Reolink App/Client, adding an extra layer of interaction and security. The PoE technology, handling both data and power through a single cable, makes installation a breeze. The IP67 weatherproof rating ensures durability in various weather conditions.

✅ Comprehensive Settings and Smart User Experience:
Delving into the advanced settings proved to be a game-changer. Custom motion zones, remote live viewing, and smart playback (up to 16x speed) significantly enhanced surveillance efficiency. The time-lapse feature condenses long-term events, providing a quick and insightful overview of transformations. I was impressed by all the settings available that make this system a professional, powerful choice!

I tested it on my mobile and also on my laptop, with a dual large screen.
This system is expandable, and more cameras can be connected, so that I can build a comprehensive security system (up to 36 security cameras that can be managed with the client software)

    My Conclusion:
Taking the time to explore and customize the advanced settings of the REOLINK Duo 3 PoE made all the difference in my surveillance experience. This security camera is not just a device; it’s a comprehensive solution that caters to the demands of professional surveillance. If you’re seeking a reliable, feature-rich, and user-friendly security camera, the REOLINK Duo PoE 16MP is a stellar choice. It has truly become the cornerstone of my surveillance setup, ensuring peace of mind and unmatched performance.

This review is for the REOLINK Duo 3 PoE 16MP UHD Dual-Lens security camera. Being a complete novice in the security camera department, I had some questions that needed to be answered. I don’t have an NVR (network video recorder) system to plug this into. It can be used as a stand alone system. The issue was that I did not have a POE injector. POE means “power over ethernet”, and is a method by which the data goes back and forth between the camera and network (router) as well as there are also power lines in the ethernet cable to power the camera itself. A POE injector injects power into the Ethernet cable and is installed between the camera and home network router. The other option was the use a regular ethernet cable, and power the camera with the separate power plug coming out of the camera. I could not find anywhere, including Reolink’s support web page, what the polarity of the 12 volt/2 amp power connection is. After some very low power tests (50 ma power level), I determined it was positive centre. Typically 12 volt barrel type power plugs are positive center, but not always. There should be something on the camera, or in the instructions identifying required polarity. The power supply is not included, so it is especially important to know this fact as you could possibly damage the camera with incorrect polarity. I was able to power the camera this way so a regular ethernet cable would connect the unit to the network router. In the end though, I purchased an inexpensive POE injector from Amazon as it is a much tidier install without having to run a separate power cable outside. The POE injector goes between the camera and the router. An Ethernet connection is usually a more reliable connection compared to a wifi connection, so that is one benefit of this setup.
I then downloaded the Reolink app on both my Android phone and my ios tablet to confirm compatibility. They both worked fine and the camera was immediately identified by both apps. Initial setup was pointing the camera towards my front yard which is about 170 feet to the street. Cars passing by would easily be identified. A small icon of a car would be pop up on the app screen as well as a box drawn around the moving vehicle. When my wife and pug went out for a walk, 2 icons showed up. The first would be a walking person icon (wife), and the second would be a paw icon, identifying the dog. The range of identification was perhaps 50-70 feer for my wife and pug, considerably less than identification of the cars, obviously because of their much smaller size than the car. The image was super wide at 180 degrees and 55 degrees tall, and it was very sharp and high def. You will need to put a micro sd card into the camera for recording capabilities in a standalone system. I found that the micro sd slot was a bit awkward to get to, as it was mounted right below the lower mount which had to be removed first. The built in smart motion detection should reduce many false warnings like branches blowing in the wind. The camera also provides 2 way audio so you might be able to control any unwanted human visitors with voice communication. Warnings can be annunciated with a loud siren if desired. All my testing was done from inside my house, behind a window. This is not the way to do it because the glass distorts the image a small amount, but more importantly, when the night vision spot light and infra red LEDs illuminate, the light doesnt go through the glass but reflects off it preventing seeing any image from the outside. All you see is the reflected light off the window. My plan, once the weather improves, is to mount it outside facing the back yard. Being located in the country, we have a lot of wildlife. Unfortunately coyotes have been getting much closer to our houses, and have been in my backyard as well as my neighbours’. The purpose of this Reolink camera will be to monitor the situation and warn me of any intrusions onto my property. This is where the siren feature, as well as notifications will be helpful. The camera is supplied with an installation manual, a mounting plate, mounting hardware, and a rain protector for the ethernet connection.
Overall, this seems like a very well built camera by a company that specializes in security systems. There are other 180 degree security cameras available, but this one has a higher resolution than most which is 7680 X 2160 @ 20 fps. Playback can be sped up to 16x, and time lapse video can be setup if desired. There are too many functions available in the apps to list them all here. Suffice it to say there are many configurable feature available with the Reolink duo 3 POE surveillance camera. If you want 16 mp UHD video in your surveillance camera, as well as many configurable options, I can recommend this product. It has worked flawlessly during my evaluation.

I love this camera though I am a little disappointed in what it takes to configure it. I keep my security cameras connected to a network that has no Internet and only the server has Internet access, this is done for security so that no one from the Internet can directly access any camera. I clarify this information so that you understand the problem I had with configuration. I connected this to my camera network and the reolink software could not find it, it did not pull an IP address through DHCP so I was unable to access the camera. I plugged it up to my router that has Internet access and it started functioning properly the reolink software could find it and it pulled an IP address through DHCP. This leads me to believe something in the firmware requires it to connect to the Internet for configuration. After configuring it and setting a static IP address I was able to connect it back to my camera network and use it without Internet. Now that I can actually use it the picture quality is very good and with a few tweaks you can use it with blue iris. It can see quite far in the dark and with it mounted on the back of my carport the wide angle view between the two cameras it can see a roughly 300 foot wide section of my property while facing the tree line 80 feet from the tree line for those that don’t understand that is quite impressive.

1 of 6 in the package deal was DOA. over four days to get support. Amazon will refund and replace the entire order of six but I have installed 5? no way to get just 1. Reolink phone numbers don’t work. Chat Does work, but unfortunately chat agents are not authorized to warranty items. It must be escalated. Also, at the time of this writing, you could not do an email warranty request because the duo 3 camera was not listed and could not go beyond a certain point in the form. After five or six emails, I received a return tag to ship the nonworking camera. Apparently you don’t get a replacement until the return is received and inspected.
    Review of the camera.
The duo3 camera seems pretty fair, It’s actually 2×8 megapixel cameras that merge to be called a 16 megapixel.
Image stitching is not consistent between all of the cameras, some are better than others. Claims to be adjustable, but I have not been able to correct the The image on the ones that don’t do so well. you cannot use the micro sd card slot and NVR simultaneously, one or the other. Pretty dumb not to be able to take advantage Of this built-in back up of the video in remote location. No method to back up anywhere automatically with the nvr. These cameras don’t do well when pointed in any position other than straight out from the wall. They somehow managed to view corners (even if set away from the wall) To the left and to the right but miss everything that happens underneath the camera. of the five cameras that do work several have trouble stitching the image back together from the two separate images for the panoramic view. Not a dealbreaker, but is annoying. Night vision seems to work well in an enclosed space, but color vision seems to work better at night outdoors if there is any lighting at all. The image takes on a The image takes on a green hue, but is quite viewable . Overall, I like them and will keep them, but they do not meet all of my needs by themselves. I will have to buy Additional cameras to go along with these for Total viewing security.

The REOLINK Duo 3 PoE security camera is an impressive piece of technology. With its crystal clear panoramic 180o+ field of view, one camera covers the entire front of my building and can see all the way to the end of my street on both sides. The 16MP image, compressed with HEVC codec, presents an unsurpassed quality of details. Using the Windows version of the excellent and very stable Reolink app, my recent main computer can render the image on my 60-inch 4K UHD TV at the highest resolution in real-time, without a glitch. The image can be magnified easily using the mouse wheel, then grabbing the image with the left mouse button, you can move it around to see details up close in a way similar to a PTZ camera, but better since the camera doesn’t move. The sound quality of this camera is astounding as well. The emphasis is put on rendering the human voice and filtering out background noise such as engine noise. I could hear people walking almost 2 blocks away and started hearing their speech about half that distance. Now, keep in mind I live in a small town and this was on a Sunday morning with next to no wind, but I was extremely impressed by this. When recording the camera feed, the soundtrack is recorded in AAC.

Another great aspect of this camera is the very high sensibility of its CMOS light sensors. My street is illuminated by LED streetlights which allows me to view the feed in color 24H a day with all the camera lights turned off! Equally impressive was the ability to control the lights and the light filter to be used; few cameras offer this much flexibility. The app gives the user more control over the camera than most other brands I’ve seen, and I’ve been using all sorts of security cameras for well over 20 years!

When viewing the camera on my phone or tablet, the app was almost identical to the Windows version, making it intuitive to use. On my budget tablet, I’m limited to the medium resolution for lack of CPU/GPU power, but the image on this smaller screen is amazingly clear nonetheless. My phone is more powerful and can render the maximum resolution. The app runs smoothly on both, without hiccups, even when several other camera apps are running in the background.

The camera’s detection algorithms work perfectly from what I’ve seen. I did not set detection recording, I simply record 24 hours a day, but while viewing the feed on Windows, you will see icons appear on the lower right of the screen when movement is detected, identifying the source of the movement (car, human, or animal).

With such a large field of view, this unique camera can replace several conventional units with an even better coverage. The panoramic field of view surpasses 180o. I put the camera on my front balcony away from the wall and it can still see both front corners of my apartment complex.

In conclusion, I think the Reolink Duo 3 is in a class of its own. It offers highly flexible compatibility for use with NVR or other systems, it’s even compatible (ONVIF compliant) with the Windows VMS app I’ve got running on a dedicated computer. This excellent camera earns 5 stars from me, I highly recommend it!

I am absolutely thrilled with my experience with the REOLINK Duo 3 PoE 16MP UHD Dual-Lens PoE camera! This device has truly surpassed my expectations in every aspect, and I can confidently say that it’s a significant upgrade from its predecessor, the REOLINK Duo 2 PoE.

First and foremost, the image quality produced by the Duo 3 is simply stunning. With its 16MP UHD dual-lens system, every detail is captured with exceptional clarity and precision. Whether it’s daytime or nighttime, the images remain crisp and clear, ensuring that I never miss a single detail.

One of the most impressive features of the Duo 3 is its dual-lens setup, which provides a wider field of view compared to the Duo 2. This means that I can cover more ground with a single camera, reducing the need for multiple devices to monitor my property effectively. Additionally, the PoE (Power over Ethernet) functionality ensures a reliable and stable connection, eliminating any worries about Wi-Fi signal strength or reliability.

Installation and setup were a breeze, thanks to the intuitive design and user-friendly interface of the accompanying app. Within minutes, I had the camera up and running, and I was impressed by the level of customization and control it offered. From adjusting camera angles to setting up motion detection zones, the Duo 3 provides ample options to tailor the device to my specific needs.

Another standout feature of the Duo 3 is its advanced motion detection capabilities. The improved algorithms ensure that I only receive alerts for relevant events, minimizing false alarms and providing me with peace of mind knowing that I’ll be notified of any suspicious activity promptly.

In terms of durability and weather resistance, the Duo 3 excels yet again. Constructed with high-quality materials, this camera is built to withstand the elements, ensuring reliable performance even in the harshest conditions.

Overall, the REOLINK Duo 3 PoE 16MP UHD Dual-Lens PoE camera is a remarkable piece of technology that delivers exceptional performance and reliability. With its superior image quality, wider field of view, advanced features, and rugged construction, it’s undoubtedly a worthy upgrade from the already impressive Duo 2. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in need of a top-of-the-line surveillance solution.

I like this camera because it gives me such a wide range angle view and the resolution is great. Stitching the 2 lenses to make one picture is not perfect, but it still is very good.

I have tried many security cameras over the years and seems a lot of them just do not have the quality of image I want. I want to be able to see someone’s face for security reasons. Another issue is that many security cameras are solar-powered. I have found that in the middle of winter, these cameras do not seem to stay charged if there are periods of cloudy days.

I saw this PoE security camera and it seemed to have all the features I was looking for.

The camera arrived well-packaged and included the camera, an Ethernet cable, mounting hardware and templates, and a user manual.

One important thing is that this camera gets its power from the Ethernet cable. You will need to get a PoE injector to send the power to the camera if you do not already have one. They are not expensive and readily available but these save you from having to run a separate power cable to the camera.

Once connected the video quality will blow you away. With 2 lenses the camera covers a panoramic view of 180 degrees with no blind spots.

The video quality is the best I have seen on a video camera. The quality is 7680×2160 (16MP) and you really do notice the difference from cheaper cameras.

8 infrared LED lights can brighten up even the darkest area up to 100 feet.

The app on your phone has access to the video camera images and you can set the app to alert you if there is any movement in the protected area. You can even use 2-way communication to speak with the person near the camera. This is great for scaring off intruders or communicating with family members.

I am very happy with this camera. Yes, the price is a premium price but this is not a cheaply made camera and has a lot of premium features built in.

I am very happy with the video quality and it is some of the best quality security video I have ever seen.
I do recommend this camera for anyone serious about protecting their home or property with a very reliable and premium camera.
