Reviewing a TV is perhaps the most difficult review to write, as it has so many features and controls. This TV has hundreds of features and controls, and you must set up an account with Samsung to maximize your utilities and features with the TV. There is no user manual supplied, only a page or two with safety guidelines and a pointer to the onscreen manual, which is somewhat challenging to navigate and does not have instructions for simple controls (like how to adjust the volume). I suggest you have a smartphone or a PC near the TV to set up the necessary accounts and authorize any streaming services you may use. The onscreen manual is written in plain, easily understood English and is very detailed, although finding particular controls for some features can be trying. I found that I needed to do Internet searches to get the necessary information on using some of the features. The on-screen manual lacked the details required for doing some simple operations (adding applications, adjusting volume, etc.). You will need some patience in setting it up and discovering where the controls are to configure features, but your patience will be rewarded.

As a TV, it works well. It has an excellent picture, good color rendition, no dead pixels, and careful packaging from Samsung. It has good sound from the TV speaker and will support a smart TV controller add-on via HDMI. It has three HDMI ports, excellent sharpness, and perfect contrast. It supports Bluetooth, has both ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity, and a standard coax cable/antenna connection. It has a standard fiber optic connection for external speakers. All the features and connectors work well (I have tested and used nearly all of them). The ‘smart’ remote can be charged via a USB-C connector, and it will even tell you when it is fully charged on a small window on the TV (nice feature). It works well with Wi-Fi and the four streaming services (including Amazon Prime) I use. It supports Alexa and Bixby (Samsung’s version of a spoken command utility). It has two USB connectors that support a variety of features that you will find on a PC, but not on a TV (until very recently). It has features that enable it to be used for gaming, videoconferencing, watching DVD movies, and a number of other applications.

When unpackaging it, you should follow the directions on the box, and then carefully follow the enclosed directions to do no harm to the screen or TV. The remote control has a microphone to support the spoken command utilities if you wish to use them. The picture can easily be viewed off-angle (if you are not sitting directly in front of it). Televisions have changed a lot since they started to be used around 1940 by the general public. This one is very impressive and is filled with electronics and microprocessors to provide a wide variety of connectivity, features, and the ability to respond to spoken commands. I did not detect any blur with motion, regardless of the source (broadcast, streaming, etc.) It is a good value for its size and utilities. I recommend it.

When I ordered the TV, I selected the shipment option to have the Samsung box repackaged in an Amazon box to conceal the order. Good decision. The delivery occurred at 937 pm (well after sunset) and the driver did not ring the doorbell. I saw the box on the outdoor doorstep at 11 pm. Anyone could have lifted the box and walked away. The bigger and awkward Amazon box safely protected the Samsung TV box and the TV inside. The next morning, I set the TV up in the kitchen on the counter. The set-up process is not easier since my last TV purchase about 4 years ago. The new TV set-up requires a lot more networking knowledge, streaming knowledge, understanding options, and patience. When the entire process was done, everything for the Samsung TV functioned correctly. I’m happy with the purchase. The screen resolution is phenomenal. I am transitioning my home TVs from 50/50 cable-internet to 100% internet. This Samsung TV perfectly meets the “streaming” requirement. – Rick

Samsung certainly did it again! The QLED performance in the color accuracy and vibrancy is quite nice although don’t expect better black levels when comparing to other LCD/LED backlight screens. The contrast, however, was quite a bit better than my other benchmark TV.

I also compared a 4k nature video between the Q60 and my other TV and noticed a huge improvement in picture quality on the Q60 in shadow details – especially when looking at snow on a mountain scene. The other TV just appeared as white snow along the mountain but the Q60 showed missing details of lines along the snow into various crevices with smaller rocks appear that were otherwise missed!

I then dabbled into GEForce Now through the Gaming hub – I do own several Steam games but tried the free tier to test the games. It basically allows a cloud based rig to render graphics and you play it using a bluetooth controller connected to the TV. It’s actually a fascinating experience but does need a relatively fast internet connection. The free tier, however, will make you wait upwards of 40 other gamers waiting to access the gaming rig as well as limit to 1 hour of play. The fee’s are actually quite inexpensive if you want to bypass these limitations.

Getting into some other features- the remote is really nice as it can dual charge both from Solar or USB-C! The only thing it really could use is a backlight, I found myself having to use my phone to see what buttons I am hitting. Jumping into the menu system – there is an advanced number of display and audio options to adjust and tweak to your liking.

The photo frame option for the TV is quite amazing! You can select your general color scheme for each photo frame (see photos of setting it to green as well as brown in two separate spaces) I actually blends into the wall quite well – with the TV being quite then it could really add to that experience.

There is also a nice graphical EQ to adjust your audio but did find the internal speakers really lacking in quality and would highly recommend using a sound bar if you need to fill the space better.

It’s a full feature-packed TV that offers features beyond what other TV’s offer!
