GPU:Geforce GTX1660 Super(125w)

I received revision 1.1 of this power supply, as per the item description which is great. Up and running for a few days in my mini-ITX build with a 450 watt RTX 3090, runs great. My unit has a bit of coil whine that I can only hear if I put my face right next to the vent in my case where the PSU sits. Hence my 4 star rating. I’ve never had coil whine on any other PSU. Time will tell whether it holds up, this is my first Silverstone PSU. Flat cables are convenient, no complaints. Incredible that I can fit a 1000 watt PSU into my mini-ITX case. I will never have to build a larger ATX based system ever again.

So far this power supply has been super solid. No issues after a couple of power outages, and seems to put out consistent power. Easily powers high end hardware with no unexpected shut downs. Only negative I have with this thing is the whining. You can here it depending on the power draw, a high pitch whine coming from it. It doesn’t bother me, because I usually have headphones on most of the time, but just something to be aware of. Overall, happy with my purchase. I have always trusted Silverstone power supplies and actually have one 10 years old that’s still going strong.

This power supply is one of the larger ones to use if you have a 3080 and a Lian Li O11D Mini. The flat cables included from Silverstone are really good at keeping everything inside.

The noise level when at load or in a high graphics demanding game is actually annoying. The model I purchased was the V1.1 and the box also states that its a V1.1. For reference, people have stated the coil whine on the V1.0 was present. It seems to be the case as well for my power supply. I expected no coil whine for a power supply at this price level. There are other brands that don’t have coil whine, but these other brands also don’t have SFX-L power supplies that go up to 1000W. I don’t notice the coil whine if I have a headset on and if I crank up my computers fans, which I have to so the 3080 is cooled properly.

Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with the purchase. I just wish the coil whine wasn’t there so the computer isn’t whining while I have family members in the area or guests in the area.

The Silverstone SST-SX700-LPT-USA is a great 700W power supply. Its a completely modular power supply and the cables are easy to work with. I used this particular model in an ITX build paired with a 10700k and 2080 Super graphics card. The power supply was able to handle the power requirements of the cpu and gpu just fine. One thing the buyer needs to note is the fan within the power supply will not spin on turn on. The fan only comes on when a certain temperature is reached within the power supply. So its very silent. And only comes on when I game. But then I can not even hear it. Everything was in the box i needed and came very well packed.

This fully modular power supply is very tolerant of warmer temperatures and as a results rarely needs to operate the fan. In fact when I say rarely, in my case it is pretty much never. I thought perhaps my fan was not working, but it simply does not need to operate within normal operating parameters. I have a Ryzen 3900x, 1080 GPU, four DDR-4 modules, a Vive Wireless adapter, M.2 WiFi, NVME, and SATA SSD running on an Asrock x570m Pro4 motherboard in a Sliger Cerberus case and, even under heavier loads, the power supply fan simply does not need to operate. The only fans I hear running are the CPU and chipset fan. I am extremely happy with the purchase and would more than likely look to purchase this again in a future build. The smaller size of this SFX-L power supply gives me a lot more flexibility in mounting it and has really opened up the space to work inside the case. Due to the extreme flexibility of the Sliger Cerberus (best case I think I have ever purchased) I have the power supply mounted in the front of the case drawing outside air in and exhausting out the top of the case. The natural convection in this orientation assists in the silent operation. If I had to buy another power supply today, I would get this exact same model.

Powerful PSU, runs my new PC fine with an i7 13700K and an Intel a770 Bifrost. Haven’t heard any noises from it so far while playing games or media creation. Just be careful of the size, it’s longer than other small PSUs so you may have trouble fitting a GPU with it depending on the case (ITX). I’m using it in an NR200.

I write this review after 2 years of heavy use of 500W SFX-L in my Mini-ITX machine.Recently the power supply cable was slightly pulled and not all the way in which caused some blue sparks coming out of the back of the power supply. Like an idiot, it took me a while to process what was happening, and before I knew it I smelled hot copper and the system shut down. It wouldn’t boot back up, not even after 20 mins.

I assumed the pc died. Either the PSU blew up or the MOBO was fried. But the next day I when I tried to turn it on again, it was working and just like new! Turns out it was some sort of safety mechanism by the the SilverStone PSU that prevented the system from booting if the temperature is too hot and it prevented the system from being fried when it sensed a large electrical discharge.

On top of all that, after 2 years and this incident, it still runs smoothly and silently and keeps the system cool.

    Worth. Every. Penny.

    **UPDATE**
It’s 2020, 4 years later, in a hotter climate with worse electrical current and still going strong.
