This sub is a beast and I could tell even before I got it out of the box (it weighs 36 pounds). Once I got it out of the box I realized that it is not the same sub as in the picture. It is the newer version with a black basket and direct 8 gauge leads. I did not care because it slams pretty hard. I wired it down to 2 ohms and powered it with a American Bass PH4000d which does 1000 watts rms at 2 ohms. I built a 2.5 cubic foot box tuned to 32hz and this thing gets low! It shakes everything in my car. If I put stuff on the dash it just jumps around about 1” in the air. I had to put 4 layers of sound deadening on the roof of my truck to get rid of the sheet metal shaking sound (I used Noico Black 80 mil which worked very well). I got pulled over by a cop one time while I was just driving down the street and he said he could hear me loud and clear in his vehicle from around a corner a block away. I don’t try to piss people off because that gives car audio people a bad reputation, but I felt a sense of accomplishment since I only have one 12” woofer. When my friends ride in my truck they turn it down because they say its just too loud. My family says they can hear me from a mile away as I am coming up my road from the highway. When my sister is surfing and I come to pick her up instead of just honking, I just turn up my system and she gets out of the water. She says the bass from my speaker is a lot more distinct and deep that other peoples sounds. I know I am just rambling on about random things here but that is because I am very pleased with how this sub has performed for me. Just buy it because for one 12” sub, you will not be disappointed.

In all fairness, this is a pretty good sounding subwoofer that can handle its rated power and probably more.
But here’s the thing- Due to the state of our country’s economy, and the diminishing existence of items which are “MADE IN AMERICA”, I have recently been on a personal campaign to stop purchasing items manufactured in China. And yes, there is a sticker on the speaker basket which clearly reads “MADE IN CHINA”. But after hearing these LITTLE MONSTERS, I was deeply rattled to my core by the actual sound quality of this single 12″ sub in a lonely B-BOX enclosure.
They sound great! and the only issue I have with it is that I had to modify my enclosure by just over a 1/2 inch in order to fit it into the box! This is something which NEEDS to be in the description, and not ignored until the purchaser discovers that he/she could possibly be ruining a perfectly good sub box for a sub whic might not live up to their expectations.

Delivered early connected in a bass band box and it sounds great. The lows hit so hard my entire astro vibrates really nice. I own 2 12 inch xfl running a 1500 watt precision power amp at 2 ohms. The two subs are wired at 4 ohm in the box then down to 2 ohm to the amp. My neighbors dont like it to much but these subs do not get hot they do not smell and ive ran 12,000 watts trough these subs and they never broke a sweat. Well worth the money but definitely not built for a small car unless you want to break it. Great job American Bass keep up the good work.

Ive been wanting to build an amazing system from the age of 15 ,im 38 now and decided since i have an Escalade with 3rows i can afford to give up the little space i have behind my last seats,,,well i got a couple crappy subs and blew them up i have a 2 kicker 1200 watt amps,,then i tried the k9 12 and it sounded half decent but the ohms didn’t match my amp so even at half power i could smell it wanting to take a break,,so after some reading i decided to get the usa xfl and omg even at a low breakin gain level this thing hits like a mac truck i have it in a single 2.2 cu box with 2 round ports tuned to about 40something i can’t remember but it is an ANIMAL, today i turned it up and i have Rockford punch 6.5s on a alpine vpower well they sound loud but the bass still shines through,,,,,im happy😁

I have been beating these subs for almost a year now and they haven’t had a single issue and they sound as good as they did when I first installed them. Clean crisp LOUD BASS running them at 1 ohm on 2500 cheap PA razr

Wow. I’ve had this sub for three weeks now and I feel obligated to write a review, it’s that good. I’ve had about 10 different models and brands of subs before this one, massive, kicker, jl, ct sounds, sony, etc. and this one kills them all. Hits the lows better than any of them and sounds the cleanest hitting any note. Louder than any of them as well. I had a massive audio torox 12 in the same box before i got this one and while it was loud and hit lows decently well, it doesnt even compare to this sub. Dont wait any longer if you are on the fence, just buy it. I have it in a 2 cubic foot ported box tuned to 32 hz on 1000 watts.

Only reason I’m giving this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ is because my order came in late but other than that I was happy that I received the 1500RMS/3,000WATT instead of the 1000RMS/2,000WATT. i already own the XFLs but the old school versions with the lower wattage. Even with the old versions they’re loud and hit super hard. I can only imagine the updated ones! Much nicer design with ribbed surround and everything else. I always been a big fan of American bass, they make great quality subs. I had my oldschool XFLs since 2018 and they never blew on me or gave me problems. Trust me these subwoofers will make your whole car rattle if supported by good electrical. Don’t hesitate to buy these! I’m about to install these in my new Down4Sound Profab V2 Kerf port subwoofer box 🔊
