This is my second one of these label makers… my first has lasted well over 20 years and I hope I get that much service out of this one. It’s simple to operate and makes a good looking label.

Wanted to print labels for kitchen items, storage containers, and all of the light switches in the house. I find this unit to be easy to figure out, easy to use, and the print is very crisp & clear. There are two reasons I did not give this a 5-star rating. I try to always use rechargeable batteries in order to lessen my eco footprint. This unit did NOT accept the batteries, constantly stating low battery even though they were freshly charged. So I had to buy regular batteries for it. Secondly, I wish the unit had the ability to be plugged into a power supply (like USB, or use a cell phone charger) in order to avoid batteries all together. But other than the power issues, I really like the unit.

I re-purchased this product after having one exactly like it for about 3 years. The reason I had to repurchase was because somewhere along the way, I damaged something inserting & changing out the refill cartridges being too rough with it, so the label paper/ plastic started to back up instead of printing smoothly. Tried something different that was operated through a phone app, but had a frustrating time with it because it would keep printing out continuously without stopping when the text was finished being typed, wasting a lot of the label tape. As long as you’re gentle & careful switching out the replacement label tape, it will last you years.
I will note, however, that your options are fairly limited if you’re looking to print elaborate, colorful labels or various dimensions of labels (the replacement tape comes in one standard size for this model) but if you’re like me & you’re using it for practical organization purposes & don’t require all the “bells & whistles” then this is perfect.
While there are cheaper options out there, I find that the replacement label tape cartridges are very reasonably priced once you’ve made the investment into the machine, which has stood the test of time for me in the past & would still be working well if it weren’t for my own reckless handling of the component.
