I picked the Epson printer because it has refillable ink and is included. Easy set up and not too big. Great value also!

This is a great printer. A little difficult to set up. But once you get it set up, it prints beautifully. Very precise, legible copies. I would highly recommend this printer and you don’t have to buy expensive ink cartridges all the time.

I never thought I would spend this much on a printer but I got tired of throwing them away every 2-4 yrs. I got it set up in about 15 minutes with my iMac and ready for wireless printing. It was pretty straight forward. I had a bunch of tax papers to print and printed about 10 pages and it worked great. Super fast compared to what I had previously.

Printing is somewaht fainter than our HP Printers and the controls are a little to understand, but I’ve had it for several months now and I love the fact that the ink never seeems to run out. But I also noticed that it’s much cheaper to purchase their ink bottlles than those HP ink cartrages, whch are getting too expensive to be real. I really do love this printer and filling the ink is really easy – just open the bottle and put it in place. It automatically fills up the little tank area and “boom” you’e ready to print..

I’ve had probably a dozen printers, mostly laser printers, in our home the last 20 or more years. All the printers we’ve owned have been fine; nothing special but they all did a decent job. I tried an ink cartridge color printer but found the color poor and the cartridges short lived.
But the Epson ET-4800 printer is a pleasant surprise.
    PROS:
    It’s reasonably priced.
The ink tank technology is great. After 2 months and approximately 400 pages, (about 80% pages with color) the black ink tank is still over 50% full and the color tanks are over 80% full.
I had no setup problem at all. It took less than 30 minutes.
The standard color is fine for handouts and presentation. The high resolution color is fair to good photo quality.
The black and white printing is fast enough for me, and the same for standard color printing.
    CONS:
The display screen is small, but I have not found this to be a problem.
Printing on both sides is not automatic, but I’ve worked around this.
There is no paper tray; you have to load the paper from the rear and it holds about 50 24lb sheets. For someone doing higher volume work this could be a problem.
The printer makes a real racket while printing, even with my very poor hearing. No printing late at night. This is the only real issue with me.

Again, I’m very pleased with this printer. It fits my needs.

I can’t give 5 stars. The printer was very hard to set up. Following setup instructions was all but worthless. The printer is very basic the screen is far to small, the printer feels light and flimsy. Filling with ink is easy. The printer works as you would expect it to for a printer costing over $200.00. I have always used Epson and have never had any quality problems and I’m sure this will be the same. Print quality is very good. I do recommend Epson but I would recommend going with a higher model than this EP-4800. Paper loading in the back is so outdated, they should have a paper tray. I only wish I would have bought a different model.

While this is a better deal due to the ink cost: you are supposed to be able to print up to 2000 pages with the ink bottles provided as opposed to 50 pages with the ink cartridges of other printers.
BUT: the front display is WAY too small. You need to be very close to read it. A display 4 times the current size with bigger fonts would be much better.
The unit works well with WPS WiFi. I tried the Ethernet connection and it worked after first setup. However, it lost that ability on power up the next day and I could not get it to stay on Ethernet.

Very easy to pair with smartphone and computer.
Print quality is excellent but I’ll have to wait and see how long the ink will last compared to my old printer.

I use it to make stickers, there are some visible lines on the prints right out of the box but after I played with some settings and watched some videos i was able to fine tune my prints
