I have been using these food saver bags for years and this is a really good deal. I use them for the fish I catch and any other type of meat that I’m gonna freeze. I like the area where you can write the date and what is inside the bag plus these are very thick. They also have slits where you can cut the bags to size off the roll. I like using this brand versus the knock offs. The price was great.

New to vacuum sealing and was pleased with how easy these are to use and how sturdy. Seal well. Good selection of sizes

I tried a couple of the ‘generic’ brand rolls. They were junk and got returned. These ‘brand name’ rolls work great, seal great. I wish they were cheaper, but vs. something that just doesn’t work, better to pay the price for quality.

There are many other companies that have food vacuum bags, but if you want the best and the safest then use the original food saver bag. I stand by these bags for over 5 years+. Never an issue.

I purchased these specifically, for two extra large ceramic casserole dishes of lasagna I made to be frozen, for an upcoming week of a family get together don in TN, as I am preparing foods in advance. I had a few hurdles to overcome however in using these. The instructions were clear, that I needed to allow an extra 5″ off bag, to allow me to get the pleats folded EXACTLY the way they come on the roll, for the machine to get a good seal. Food Saver even included a paper measuring piece, so you knew you had the 5″ of extra bag. HOWEVER, to my surprise on the 1st pan we did, (BTW, these were already frozen, with parchment paper over the lasagna, and wrapped in butchers freezer paper, before I learned these bags were available), so when we unwrapped the 1st one, to put it in this bag, we found lining the pleats up perfectly, became a 2 person task, as once one side was lined up, someone had to hold them tight, while I lined up the pleats on the other side. Once accomplished, we both held our pleats tight, as we maneuvered the casserole into the vacuum channel of the machine. To my surprise, it sucked it down over the edges of the casserole, right down to the top of the lasagna, (which is great, as that eliminates any ice crystal formation), but there was one end of a lasagna noodle curled up, that I didn’t notice, as I left the original parchment paper on top of the lasagna, but as it pulled it tight, that noodle actually punctured the bag which then allowed for an air leak, and making it impossible to seal. Luckily, we had a roll of packing tape in a kitchen cabinet, and we grabbed it, as I pushed the noodle down flatter, my wife quickly applied two overlapping pieces of packing tape, which stopped the air leak, allowing the bag to seal, and stay sealed. When we did the 2nd pan of lasagna, I lifted the parchment paper 1st, and than used a large spoon to flatten out any points sticking up, before we placed the casserole in the bag, and the 2nd one was flawless.

I strayed from the original FoodSaver material a few years back and it wasn’t a disaster, but it wasn’t great.

FoodSaver is thicker and more rupture resistant than the generic brands I tried. With any sealing, success depends on keeping your machine clean. Also, if you’re sealing anyting moist, open up the machine and keep eye on the fill tray. The area where the seal is to be made must be mostly dry.

A tip for sealing anything delicate, such as bread, freeze it first and stop the vacuum short so it doesn’t crush it.

With 20 plush years experience in this area, I think this brand is worth the extra money.

My husband is a hunter and with that, we vacuum seal up to 60lbs of meat each year. We had utilized an off brand of food saver, and noticed an immediate difference of quality. The Food Saver bags held up very well and did not end up with holes and freezer burn due to holes. We just ordered more of the Food Saver bags this year!
