I bought this when my fridge ice maker died. It does a great job of producing ice. However, you need to either use the ice within a couple hours, or transfer it to the fridge (I use it to fill the dispenser on my non-functional fridge ice maker) and draw from it to make drinks.

Pros: makes ice in decent large quantities. The ice is nice size and shape. The unit isn’t expensive.

Cons: The ice melts in a couple hours if not used. You have to open the unit and remove the ice basket to add water. You have to manually add water.

I typically turn the unit on in the afternoon, and we have nice ice for dinner and drinks after. I turn it off before bed, so I don’t wake up to a pile of mostly melted ice with a few fresh cubes on top. I also had friends over for frozen margaritas, and this machine kept up with my ice usage. it’s pretty solid. It makes ice faster than my fridge used to before it broke.

My wife really like small ice, like Sonic ice, but this is NOT sonic ice. It is small and bite size though.
Pros: I like how you add the water, is is nice looking and fast to make the ice, ice bucket slides out easily and I really like the catch tray.
Cons: it is noisy, when it is going through its ice making cycles, it is not quiet. It’s not overly loud, but not quiet either.
I am hopeful it will last long. We had a GE Opal ice maker, but it failed after a couple months and they are very expensive compared to this Frigidaire unit.

Love the ice maker! Easy! First
One stopped working after 20 days but they promptly replaced. Most ppl I know have this ice maker and no issues ..happy w it. I don’t foresee any issues w second one. I bet isolated issue.

I received my ice maker yesterday and put it to use right away. It makes ice fast very fast. Ice is a bit on the wet side but that’s ok because as soon as the basket was full I put the ice in my water jug and cup which I bring to work. It made more ice than I needed so I put the extra in the freezer but after 20 minutes I needed to break the ice up because the unit makes somewhat wet ice cubes. While I have not had the unit for long I am impressed so far and if it lasts a year or two I will be happy.

Very convenient and nice to have when ice is in demand in a home with a bunch of kid’s.
Sadly only had it for about 6 months before the mechanism that dumps the ice into the tray broke at one of its two attachment points. It still makes ice but it’s not working at a 100%.

The feature that tells you when you’re out of water does not work. This doesn’t bother us. Because it makes the best ice and makes it fast. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made on Amazon. We’ve been running it for months and use it everyday.

    ***UPDATE***
    ***DEFECTIVE & HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE***

Less than 6 months after purchase the machine stopped working. I took advantage of the 1-year guarantee. I could only contact the company via email. I had to fill out a very detailed form before they granted me a solution. Despite all the evidence I provided to prove the machine stopped working because it was defective (not from user error or damage) I was forced to mail them the machine so they could repair it or send me a replacement. The cost to mail it (the least expensive option at USPS) was over $60USD – almost the cost of the unit in the first place.

Customer service was horrible. It took months to receive a replacement after spending the money on shipping. They kept sending messages saying they were dropping my ticket and my case. It wasn’t until I threatened to go to the police for holding my property with no intention of returning it to me that I suddenly found a new replacement ice maker at my front door – no notice that it was being sent or that my case had been resolved.

The replacement seems to be working just fine. It’s been about 6 months since then so fingers crossed it survives longer than the last one!

Makes lots of ice , easy to use. Great for the cottage where I don’t have an ice maker in the fridge. Makes a batch about every 5 minutes. Love the cubes.

My Igloo brand ice maker – the water pump died. It also sounded like a freight train was running through the house. I researched and selected this one as a replacement.

First – significantly quieter – it is not soundless as the fan needs to run – but it is not a freight train either.
Makes great ice – quick and replenishes fast.

There are colors – but I went neutral with stainless. Looks great and easy to use.

Unit barely lasted a month and the customer support is horrible to non-existent! Unit worked great for a couple of weeks. One day we came in and the tank was full of black water. It didn’t appear to be mold. It was just black water running out of the unit into the tank. I cleaned it out but I continued to have to clean out the tank daily due to small amounts of black still seeping in over the next week. It lasted about a week longer and then the unit stopped making ice. I cleaned everything out again, filled it with water and plugged it in. You could hear the fan running but the unit would not make ice and it wasn’t getting cold inside.

The unit had a 1 year warranty from the manufacturer so we contacted the support # in the manual around the first of July 2023. I had to send a video and pictures of the unit. Then they asked us to ship the unit, at our cost, to their warehouse for review. Our mistake for being taken advantage of! We shipped the unit for $80 to their warehouse. This is after paying nearly $400 for a unit that only worked a month!!!! The tracking number says it arrived 2 weeks ago but we still have not heard anything from the manufacturer. We’ve called to ask for an update and they keep telling us they need the tracking number which we have provided more than once. The only update they will provide to us is “wait for an email with further instructions”. You should receive an email in 4 to 6 weeks to tell you if we are repairing the unit or going to send you a refund.

This unit looked so nice and I was super excited about it for the first few weeks! I do not usually write reviews but I feel the need to tell others to not buy this unit! For what we paid, I expected way more! This is our second counter top ice maker. The last one we bought only cost $99 and it lasted over a year. It was not a Frigidaire brand. I know this brand is generally good so I thought we were safe spending this kind of money. We use a lot of ice.
