unfortunately, my experience fell short. While one radio works perfectly fine, allowing me to communicate effectively, the other one seems to have a mind of its own. Despite trying multiple troubleshooting methods, the second device simply doesn’t transmit my voice, rendering it essentially a one-way radio. Disappointing and frustrating, as you can see they are on the same channel and I am holding the button you can see the flashing one works while the other nothing.

Walkers work well, as expected from this maker. From my house to the back of the property is about 1/2 miles and they worked just fine. When moving through a small section of timber around the same distance they did get a little scratchy but I could still make it what was being said. Good product for a fair price.

Motorola never lets me down when I came to buy Walkie Talkies. They provide the better connection and wider range covering with crystal clear sound quality too. A great brand name.

If you understand in advance that FRS two-way radios like this Motorola T275 (with a max transmission power of 2 watts) have a very limited range outside of ideal, line-of-sight conditions, you’ll be able to appreciate this product. People who are city or suburbia dwellers like me, are likely to be very disappointed if they expect to get a 25-mile talk range from these radios. From the information I’ve seen, 2-watt radio transmissions can only really travel that max distance in situations like this: when you’re transmitting and receiving from 2 hot air balloons in direct line of sight of each other on a clear day. Other than that scenario, expect to get much less range.

It’s also good to remember that FRS radio communications are not private regardless of your “privacy code” settings (which are a bit of a misnomer). Other radios on the same channel as the one you select might pick up your conversations. So if being able to have truly private radio communications is important to you, FRS radios are not the right option for your needs. If you do decide to try them, at least be sure to change the channel settings from the default.

I’ve used Motorola cell phones in the past, and I’ve always appreciated their call clarity. Likewise I was really pleased with how clearly I could hear the other party on these radios. These are actually less fussy to use than a cell phone for short-distance communications, such as biking, walking around a farmer’s market, etc. The Call Tone button feature also makes it a good, quick paging system when, for example, my mom wants my dad to comes downstairs, or to come back inside from the backyard or from nearby the home. I’m still learning about all the features and potential uses, but in the short period of time I’ve been using the T275 two-way radios, I’ve been really impressed. Overall, I think this is an amazing starter pack for anyone interested in learning about and using license-free two-way radios. You get a great carrying case, a charging cable that can charge both radios at the same time, earpieces with mics, and stickers (to help differentiate radios).

I was pleasantly surprised by these walkie talkie two-way radios. Upon opening the box, I found a well-organized package containing two radios, two earphones with mics, two clips, and a convenient 2-in 1 USB charging cable. The inclusion of a sturdy hard case added to the overall quality impression. What impressed me most was the attention to detail in the design. The radios come with rechargeable battery packs, which are essential for prolonged use, but the option to switch to standard AA batteries provides added flexibility. Additionally, the removable belt clip offers versatility, and the default setting of having all tone options off ensures compatibility with radios from other manufacturers right out of the box.

The clear and concise instructions made setup a breeze, allowing me to quickly get the radios up and running. The compact and portable case ensures that the radios are easy to transport and keeps them secure during travel, eliminating the hassle of searching for misplaced walkie-talkies. Overall, I highly recommend these two-way radios. They’re reliable and well-equipped for outdoor adventures like hikes, providing peace of mind and effective communication within a reasonable range.

So I live in pretty flat terrain here in North East Texas. There are some hills and lots of trees, but no real elevation changes.

From my testing the effective range of these walkie-talkies are about 1 mile as the crow flies.

Now, that is while driving in a vehicle and passing under some large power lines while the other walkie talkie is in a house, pointed in my direction out of a window.

I still think a 96% reduction from the claimed range is pretty bad. I would have accepted a 50% range, but 96% is beyond a failure for me.

Now, they do say that the 25 mile range is in optimum conditions, but still…

They are much better than the kid walkie talkies and sound great within that mile so they’re still useful, but tailor your expectations.

These are great walkie-talkies! Just what you’d expect from the Motorola brand. We use when out Jeeping and when off-road. They’ve proven worthy at about 2 miles. They’re rated for 25 mile range, but I haven’t tested them that far yet. There is a little static when deep in the woods but not too much that you can’t hear. I also plan to take them on a cruise with us next month, so that we can keep in touch with the kids without having to purchase the wifi package. Good find! I recommend!

These are very good two-way radios. We use it for out kids when they are out and about. There is a pager that you can make go off if they don’t hear you talking. It has the weather channel, which we have not used honestly. Now as far as distance goes, you only get about 1 mile if you are in a residential area. Open field and water you get a further range, and the highest range is mountain. For our needs to works better than expected, we love it.
