Got it so I could play ffxiv at 4k and since mmo’s aren’t good for anything over 60 fps its perfect for 4k and has been extremely stable. When uncapped it eaily pushed over 100 fps on the Endwalker benchmark with great temps (usually at 50 celcious), also at 4k with a score of 21665. It also pushes great at 1440p as other reviews have stated like from GN and Owen has said and I got good scores on other benchmarks like Timespy with a score of 17068, Firestrike at 37285, and Portal Royal at 11769 with out of the box settings no overclock and with the current latest drivers and default settings on the benches. I should also say I paired the 7900Gre with a Ryzen 5 7600x CPU and G.Skill DDR5-6000 CL36 RAM. So far so good and if anything funky happens I wil update in a month. If I don’t then it still runs perfectly.

I bought this for VR flight sims. What a mistake. I was very excited when this was announced and purchased on release day. Big fan of AMD but never owned one of their graphics cards. I was using a Nvidia RTX 3070ti. This 7900 GRE was supposed to have 26% better performance, double the VRAM, and is brand new, versus my 3070ti which is last generation card, and on the lower end at that. I knew this GRE was not the XTX, but it is still the 7900 and was supposed to be on par with a 4080, or 4070 super from the reviews I read. Bogus. All of them.

MY FINDINGS – every time I would load DCS flight sim I would be met with flickering/stuttering no matter how fast or slow I moved my head. I spent 5 hours messing with settings in DCS itself, even went so far as to put everything on the lowest possible settings, to no avail. None of AMDs software changes made any difference either. I combed through countless reddit pages, forums, etc. trying a variety of recommended settings – no go at this station.

My motherboard chipset, and processor are all AMD. It baffles me that a competitors GPU from last generation, outperforms a card from manufacturer of the CPU/chipset. I never resolved the stuttering, and gave up. I am returning the item and already reinstalled my old card for now. I do not think I will ever try AMD GPUs again, and although I cannot speak toward the performance of this card outside of flight sims, I will recommend if you plan to use this card for VR, especially flight sims, I would move on and stick with the brand that works.

This cards performance is on par with the 4070 Super, while costing $50 dollars less. Simultaneously, it beats the regular 4070 by about 10-20 percent in most games at the same price. Therefore, it’s frustrating to see other reviews from individuals who have failed to do their research. No sources, and I mean zero reputable sources have equated this card to a 4080. What would even draw someone to believe it would have the same performance as a card that costs literal twice the amount? People also fail to mention the large difference in Vram between this card and Nvidias sections. 12GB may seem like enough now but several games are already pushing close to that threshhold. Lastly, you’re supposed to be reviewing this particular card, not the 7900 GRE’s architecture.

    Pros: Very fast rasterization performance.
    Very quiet and cool temps.

Cons: Huge and may not fit in every case.
No adjustable RGB, only two colors to
    choose from.

Great performance at 1080p with everything on max in all my games, and because im not pushing the card hard the temps barely hit 40c, Sure the card works great at 1440p too and good with upscaled 4k (FSR DLSS etc) but for the purpose i brought it for im very happy with it, and im sure ill get a good few years out of it before i have to upgrade again

Excellent value card for 1440p gaming. The temp are low and the noise is very quiet. Huge upgrade from my 5700XT.

The only thing I could complain about so far is that the card looks kind if boring visually. The LED colors (blue and purple) are kind of boring and also too bright for me so I just turn them off.

But the actual performance of this card is insane. Definitely some kind of GPU sag device, this card is a long boy.

I ordered this the day it came out the 27th of Febuary 2024 and I absolutely love this graphics card it’s great. I don’t know what the one star review it got is about with vr because I played plenty of vr games perfectly fine such as the forest vr, phasmophobia vr and some flight sim vrs and high on life vr mod and borderlands 2 vr ran flawless. $550 is $200 cheaper than the Rx 7900 XT and still performs just as good as it just ten frames less. Needs a psu of 750 watt atleast to be completely stable which is understandable. I also recommend a gpu support mount for it they’re $5 for one I got. It is very heavy! and has gpu sag if you don’t get one or get a support bracket.
The Rgb is beautiful especially the blue and it really handles its self well with cooling. I ran a very intensive 3d mark direct x 12 test and it got 70 c and was still very cool and passed with flying colors no issues on 1440p and 4k. Highly recommend!!!! and it doesn’t bottle neck even with a modern i5 10th gen and up!

The performance is on point, fast, quiet, and powerful, AAA titles on ultra settings haven’t seen less than 100-150 yet averaging 200-250 on most games. 400+ older titles. Beyond happy with this purchase and fits perfect in my MID ATX build paired with 64gb ram, and a 5800x3d.

This card is quiet, cool, and very fast. There are more than 5000 cores and 16 GB of DDR6 ram. I did notice transient stuttering for about 15 minutes in some titles. Restarting the computer or flushing the shader cache fixed this. This card is noticeably faster than the 7800xt. However, you need to configure your bios for maximum performance. You should not use this card in bios compatability mode (CSM). Turn CSM mode off and turn on above 4g encoding and turn on resizable bar. I got a 20% increase in Firestrike and Cyberpunk77 benchmark. Very fast in Diablo 4. This card has the best price to performance and build quality is much better than 4070 super founder which I returned. There are two 8 pin power connectors and the card is 12.7 inches long and 2.5 slots wide. Upgraded from rtx 3080 EVA with 10 gb of RAM. Many thanks to Powercolor and Sapphire for making the best AMD graphics cards. Faster, cooler and better. Ideal card for 1440p at 160hz.
