First, the most important thing, it’s strong enough to hold up my 49″ Dell U4924DW screen with no sagging. That said, it’s not as nice as the Ergotron units that cost about four times as much. Assembly wasn’t too hard, though the tiny flat-head screws are a pain to tighten using the end of the included wrench, you’ll want a real screwdriver for that part. The included channel to run your cables through doesn’t have nearly enough depth to hold all my cables, so I wound up using velcro to just secure them around the arm.

If your goal is to get the monitor up off your desk, this will do the trick, though it can be a bit nerve-wracking and awkward hoisting your monitor into position. I’d like to have the fancier Ergotron units, as I had a great Ergotron for my 34″ display (that can’t handle the weight of a 49″) but given how much more they cost, I decided to try this Silverstone unit first.

The monitor arm is articulated, but can be very stiff and hard to adjust. While the unit supports pivot and tilt, it isn’t exactly smooth or easy to move a giant screen around on this thing, and it’s best just to find a place where it’s comfortable for your use and set it. I’ve only had it 24 hours, and no sagging so far, though obviously the real test is how it performs over time.
