I find this calculator to be the best for the needs of an engineering student. What I like most about it is the easy use of memories. More sophisticated calculators usually are also programmable and are not allowed in our examinations. Talking about examinations: it happened to more than one of our students with another kind of calculator that the battery went flat during the exam; the solar panel is very useful exactly for peace of mind in such tense situations.

Dieser Taschenrechner überzeugt mich durch seine einfache Handhabung und alle Funktionen, die ich jemals hätte brauchen können. Währen der Schulzeit war er schon das perfekte Hilfsmittel und das ist er jetzt an der Uni auch noch. Den Ersten seiner Art hatte ich für über 5 Jahre bei fast täglicher Benutzung und er hat mich nie enttäuscht. Besonders die statistischen Funktionen, die ihn ganz klar von einem einfachen Taschenrechner unterscheiden, sind mir im Studium bedeutend wichtiger geworden. Im Gegensatz zu einem Konkurrenzprodukt musst ich bei diesem Taschenrechner feststellen, dass auch die Verarbeitung von Tasten und Display keine Beschwerden zuläasst.
Alles in allem gebe ich diesem Taschenrechner in Sachen Funktionalität, Lebensdauer, Benutzerfreundlichkeit und auch Stil ein “sehr gut”.

Great product but the case was missing. It has been very helpful for my son and I when it comes to algebra because we both are weak in the math area. But having this tool makes it much easier to understand.

I have had a TI 30XIIS for at least 10 years, and recently bought a new one because I left one of mine in a hotel on a recent business trip overseas.
I have been using this calculator since highschool, and continued to use it throughout my post secondary and post graduate studies in engineering. The two line display is something that you cannot go without once you have used it, and the ability to go back into the memory by tapping the arrow keys to recall or edit previous formulas is a major time saver. One of my favourite things about this calculator is the variable storage functionality. You can store an answer or a number as a variable (5 variables available) and then use those variables in more complicated formulas. For example, you can type out the quadratic formula into the calculator, store your numbers as A, B, and C, then recall the formula you just typed and it will give you your answer for the variables currently stored. Its also really easy to update these variables, therefore saving you a ton of time. This is especially useful during exams!
The one slight downfall of this calculator is that it cannot solve integrals or differential equations….which isn’t THAT big of a deal to be honest. When I was going through my dynamic courses, I had purchased an additional calculator just to solve integrals and equations. Other than that, this calculator was perfectly capable.
I would also recommend this calculator over a fancy graphing calculator for a few reasons, but most of all the cost, and the ease of use. Graphing calculators will do everything you need them to, however they can be a bit clunky and over complicated.
All in all, this is a great calculator which I have been using as a student and professionally for many years, and plan to continue to use into the future.
